Vanguard Children’s Academy is the most wonderful preschool I could have envisioned for my children. The teachers are truly spectacular—kind, creative, caring, and deeply invested in each child’s development while making sure they enjoy every day. This is a family-owned school, and you can absolutely feel it. Every detail is intentional and thoughtfully planned. As a parent, you receive consistent updates and communication throughout the day from both teachers and staff, which brings so much peace of mind. Initially, I worried that such a nurturing environment might be lacking academically—but it’s quite the opposite. For PK4, I briefly switched my daughter to a highly rated public VPK program, thinking it would better prepare her for kindergarten. After just one month, it was clear that Vanguard’s PK4 program provided a far more appropriate and effective learning environment for her age, and I moved her back. Staying at Vanguard for PK4 turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. She was later accepted into West Lab for kindergarten and is absolutely thriving. She’s an August birthday, end-of-year child, and academically she is not only caught up but often ahead of many of her peers. Vanguard Children’s Academy prepared her exceptionally well for kindergarten. Our family will always carry Vanguard in our hearts and memories. Truly the best preschool in Coral Gables.
This school is absolutely amazing. We found this school, after researching and touring a few. From the moment that we visited VCA, it was clear that this is a special place. Every teacher and staff member genuinely loves and cares for every child here. When I leave my child for the day, as hard as that is, I leave knowing that they will be loved, cared for, and provided with high quality social and academic learning opportunities throughout the day. This is a special place and worth every penny that we pay for our child to attend. Thank you, VCA!
When we arrived as expats, not knowing a single soul, we began the big “school hunt.” We visited several places, but the moment we walked into Vanguard, we just knew. What we found wasn’t just a family-run school that truly cares about their students. We found teachers who love your child as if they were their own, and parents who quickly became real friends. For us, Vanguard wasn’t just a school, it became our community, our safe place, and our Florida family. The school organized so many fun and meaningful events that our son absolutely adored (and secretly, so did we). He learned, laughed, and was loved every single day. And when life abroad threw us some curveballs, both the school and the parent community stepped up for us in ways we’ll never forget, supporting not just our child, but us as parents too. Choosing Vanguard was hands down the best decision we made while living here. We’ll forever cherish the sweet moments, the friendships, the hugs at drop-off, and the countless smiles. Our daughter has attended Vanguard since she was 18 months old, and now as she prepares to graduate, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible foundation this school has provided. From day one, the teachers have shown genuine care, love, and dedication—not only nurturing her growth but also helping her develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning. The curriculum is thoughtfully structured, balancing strong academics with creative exploration and play. We’ve been continuously impressed with how much she’s learned, from early literacy and math skills to social-emotional development. The staff and leadership foster a warm, inclusive environment where every child is valued. Communication with parents is excellent, and we’ve always felt supported and heard. We couldn’t have asked for a better preschool experience. VCA has truly become like a second home for our daughter, and we’ll always be thankful for the beautiful start they’ve given her. when we just moved to Miami i didn't know anyone but we need to find a good pre-school for our daughter. I'm always picky with the schools/nurseries i'm putting her in both for education and emotional perspective. Google reviews helped me a lot to find Vanguard and i hope my review will help more families to make their decision. We were enrolled to PK4 class and stayed there one year. During the one year my daughter grown up so quick and she learned so many things!! we graduated fully prepared not just for kindergarten but even for 1st grade. Education - excellent, family approach to the students and families (you feel yourself as in a big family, where each of teacher no matter from which class they are, will love you child as their own). Thanks a lot VCA Family and amazing full of positive moments year!
