What Parents Say
USC HEAD START receives mixed reviews ranging from 5/5 to 1/5 stars. While many parents praise the clean facilities, caring teachers, and positive learning experiences, several parents report serious concerns including alleged inappropriate teacher behavior, administrative communication issues, and claims of discrimination based on family structure and parental demographics.
My son had the worst experience here. That good thing was that my son tells us everything and he spoke about how a color woman teacher grabbed him and yelled at him. He no longer wants to go to school and keeps saying he’s shy must of been that all the little kids were looking at him when he was crying and this teacher did that to my son. I don’t recommend at all.
My daughter had the most amazing year at this school. She learned so much and met the most amazing teachers. The teachers and staff were always helpful and friendly.
Miss Ramos at the mac site is the most rudest discouraging person I've ever met. Not sure why she still working around kids. I found complaint after complaint. Because when my Five-year-old was attending. The Early Education Program She did not start having. Self-esteem problems until this teacher begin to work there. The authorities over her did move her out of my daughter's class. But I have a 3 year old daughter. That will soon be going. To the same school because this is our community. I do not want her to be treated. Badly, or being bullied by teachers or anyone for that matter I would like my children to learn safely. Teachers are there to teach and encourage? The students to be better people in life Miss Ramos has done No such thing. I'm just praying that my three year old doesn't endure the same. Mental pain since this Teacher is still teaching here.
Worst experience a single mom could ever encounter. I was told I would have a son that would have feminine features because he was being raised by a single mom, that the saying " I am mom and dad" was not valid, and that I needed to send my son off with a male so that he would not misbehave. This is by far the worst center there can be! Do not send your child here if you are not a " traditional family" because they do share a bias. They have discriminated me because of my age, sex, and schooling. I have volunteered countless hours, have been a part of the parent committee, and yet have been mistreated and been belittled by side supervisors, executive director, and board director at USC. I have completely been disregarded by everyone and been spoken to aggressively.
My nephew has been going to this school for a year now and he loves it. The teachers are very nice, amazing, & friendly. All of staff are as well.
