We had been with USAA for well over a decade. We utilized them for banking, credit cards, auto loans, insurance, investments, just about any service they offered. Then...after one 800$ home owners claim, they dropped us from our home owners insurance. Mind you, we received the renewal letter already (like we do every year), and then one week before our renewal date I get a letter in the mail saying they are dropping us from our insurance. I called and spoke with the person who sent the letter explaining the long history of utlizing USAA for all our financial needs, how we already received the renewal letter, and we've paid thousands into our home owners over the years with only one small claim. She basically said tough shit, you've got a week to find new insurance. I said alright then I see you don't really give a damn about veterans after all. We closed out all our bank accounts, transferred our investments, transferred our auto insurance, credit cards, everything. We switched to a local bank and allstate, and couldn't be happier.

Val, Desiree, and Kari provided excellent and timely service to both inquiries I had regarding my account. Desiree expertly walked me through all the necessary steps on my USAA app and Val clearly articulated the next steps that my wife must complete. Great experience and extremely professional as well as friendly staff!!!

After being a customer for nearly 20 years, I'm done. Already transferred my auto insurance to progressive, where I saved 30% and got better coverages (windshield, which USAA doesn't offer) and already transferred my savings to Amex (who actually pays some interest, not a fraction of a percent like USAA). Now I'm transferring my checking away - it's ludicrous that I can't withdraw more than $5,050 per day in cash at a major branch location. No other bank operates like this. Sad to see what once was a good institution become completely worthless.

They are denying a lot of soldiers the emergency loans during this government shutdown. These are soldiers that have banked with them for a well over a decade if not a couple of decades. We will definitely be banking with someone else!!

Just wanted to share my thoughts as a longtime member. TLDR: They use terrible vendors for their in-network car repairs, please, please, please do not let them refer you in-network for repairs, especially to Caliber Collision. Full story: I ran over a bucket of tools that fell out of a truck on the interstate and USAA sent me to Caliber Collision. They charged USAA for repairs, I argued back and forth with them and my USAA rep about whether or not the repairs were successfully completed, USAA dragged out the process for about a year and then turned it around on me and said I waited a year to complain....classy. I was initially upset but decided to suck it up since I work from home and barely drive the car anyways. Finally about a month ago it started getting hot and I decided to finally inspect the damage and replace the air conditioner that was "not damaged during the accident." For the record- according to team USAA, the condensor broke in an unrelated event that happened at the exact same time and place as my collision. It should also be noted that the AC evaporator pipes are located at the point of impact of the tool bucket that I hit...with my car...weird coincidence. Now this is where things get frustrating thanks to team USAA; all of the parts that came off the car are OEM, USAA doesn't use OEM parts during repairs, so it would appear that in my frontal collision none of the damages were actually fixed, they just buffed the paint and sent the car out the door hoping the customer wouldn't throw it on a lift, that was an accurate guess as I didn't even own jack stands to raise the car up to inspect damages. Now....I don't believe that a reasonable person working in auto repair would not replace the parts that hold the bumper in place at the point of impact. So who has liability here? Now that the post is live, I would assume USAA is aware of the state of these parts, but is this car driveable? I mean physically it runs fine and can drive, but that bumper is kind of hanging on by a thread. IDK overall the whole situation is sketchy and I would have never even known it wasn't properly repaired if I didn't know about the OEM part policy. Side note, and this is going to shock you- The AC leak I had was leaking at the point of impact when dye was used, which is extra frustrating as I shouldn't have trusted Caliber Collisions recommendation and bought a whole new AC kit which was a waste of money. Also don't take my word for it, take a look at the OEM parts pictured in this post.
