What Parents Say
The reviews are inconsistent and appear to conflate the Urban League organization as a whole with its various programs and services, rather than focusing on daycare experiences. While some reviewers praise the organization's community work and employee professionalism, others criticize property management, preventive services, funding misappropriation, and poor communication.
I wouldn't recommend the urban league of Rochester to anyone as far as their rental properties. I've been a tenant at the annex for almost 10 years. they are unprofessional, rude, unorganized people. The parking is despicable, they lose checks and mishandled personal information all the time. The lack of communication and leadership is disgusting. when was the president he never reached out when I sent him emails and not the new president won't get back to me either. If your a hard working citizen, you don't matter at the urban league!
Urban League of Rochester has many programs that support the community, the Entrepreneurship Assistance Center and ROC Women's Business Center are only two. If you are starting, running or growing a business, consider working with The Urban League of Rochester.
Was teamed up with the preventive program who did nothing but teamed up with CPS against me. They never offered me any help or services to assist me. The worker Caniyea was given a promotion with CPS to throw me under the bus and lie. The supervisor Sarah apo is rude and unprofessional. They never check on clients and are always scheduling the visit day off and coming late then tell CPS you refuse a visit. I thought these organizations are put into place to better assist the quality of life for minorities but instead they just want the grant money. I’ve also had the unfortunate opportunity to work here and I quickly realized how misappropriated the grant funding is and lack of organization. I was promised a job and then after three week received a letter stating that the program ran out of funding. The urban league needs to reclaim their name they were never like this.
Can never get a live person on the phone and no call back, when you leave name and phone number. Something is not right about this organization and so many others in Rochester, that claim they are about building the black community. It's all a lie.
The Urban League is Rochester’s premier civil rights and advocacy organization. The team is doing phenomenal work to help create a more equitable Rochester!
