Upland Ymca-Early Childhood Development Center

The experience I had with the Upland YMCA preschool happened years ago, but it was something extremely serious that I'm still very upset and traumatized about. My oldest daughter attended the preschool program and things were great👍 The teachers were wonderful, and the culture, and curriculum was amazing. Unfortunately, things changed when the school decided to change the curriculum and the wonderful teachers left due to the changes. The school hired new teachers and one was a male. In the beginning he was great, but I started to notice things were feeling off. I had many concerns about the new curriculum as well as the new male teacher. When I went to the director ( he is no longer there) and expressed my concerns he and the assistant director decided to turn things around on me. They brought up the one time I forgot to put shoes on my sleeping preschooler and took her to school (I went back home and got shoes). They denied everything and didn't take anything I had said about the teacher into consideration. I immediately took my daughter out of the program for her safety. A few months to almost a year later, the male teacher was arrested and being charged with child molestation. I don't know if things have changed besides the director, and if she is even related to the old director, but please be aware of this program and don't let the staff make you feel stupid or crazy. If you sense something, say something and take care of your child. They didn't seem to care about the well being of the children in the program, even when concerns were brought to their attention.

We've had our child in this program since she was 2 years old. Everyone was so great. She will be going to TK now but they are so flexible, have extended hours and helped with potty training as well. We will miss our time here.

I can't say enough good things about the staff or how my son has enjoyed his time here over the last 2 years.
