This may not be an upscale facility, but what is lacking in a larger building and more in-house programs/areas. Adapt makes up in the family experience. Every individual is treated just as a part of a family. They really are a tight-knit community. There is a lot of love and laughter that goes on in there! My twins graduated from the pre k program 6 years ago, and now my adult son will be attending the dayhab. I could not be more excited to be welcomed back home!
My son is on the spectrum and attends the children’s program at Adapt community network in Staten Island. The teachers and staff are amazing! The intake coordinator Eman is warm, welcoming and informative. She guided me through the entire process and made the intake into the school very easy. My child’s teachers, knowledgeable, patient, Experienced. They have taught my son so much in the 1.5 years he has been there and I’m truly impressed. My son loves to attend school. I receive daily notes on my child’s progress For the day which is a plus! I also love their open door policy, the communicating is 100% top tier with all the staff. The related services team (OT PT ST) are very good with my son and have figured out the best therapy and strategies to help my son during meltdowns and how to redirect negative behavior in a fun and gentle way, all while incorporating learning in their approach! The Social worker Mrs Nasso is helpful with guiding all services and events and external Sources that has helped my son and his development. Adapt children’s program has been extremely helpful to my sons overall development and learning experience. I would highly recommend sending your special needs/developmentally delayed child to this school.
My son attended the Staten Island children’s program this school year and we absolutely love and appreciate his teacher, the assistants, therapists and the entire school administration that has made this journey great and positive. As a parent, it is hard to trust people with your kids but the communication, care and patience has been shown since day one. While we are so sad to be moving (I wish I could take you all with us) we are thankful for the experience. My son has grown and learned so much and it is thanks to the team. Thank you especially to Ms Naagla! ❤️ - my baby will miss you all! His next school has big shoes to fill.
I am a Care Manager, providing services to the intellectually disabled population. I have visited a few times. I think the place is clean, staff are observant, checking to see who I was as I entered the building and they were attentive to the members, ensuring that they were properly supervised and engaged in activities. I've also recently learned that there is also a preschool option in this building. Overall, yes I would feel comfortable placing my loved one in this program. Please note that this group is mostly for those requiring higher levels of support. Contact Adapt and set up a tour if you like!
Very clean. Bright and vibrant. The children seemed happy. The staff were very friendly. I got good vibes there.
