Underground Railroad

This place is a horrible place to stay. Let me explain imagine escaping a domestic relationship then getting a room to stay at this place where shortly after your targeted. This is how I found out that I was on the government targeting list. At first everyone seemed so polite and then all of sudden they started to bring in fake victims to pick with me . There was a lady there I will not disclose her name but she was working with my children then all of sudden she started to act weird. Like she seen a ghost every time she seen me. They started spreading lies about me to all the other women there so they could treat me different. It even got to the point where they brought in a male/female mind you this is a all women facility. She was my neighbor she would wake up all night walking in and out the room letting the door close very loudly however there are sleeping hours in place when you should be sleep. Their excuse was her sleep insomnia. Not only that a victim I know came and told me that they had cameras in all the rooms and guess what that same day she was gone .Certain staff like Mrs. V and the cook Crystal where very welcoming. Not all the staff were bad people. But the manager she knew exactly what was going on when I told her about it. She was bringing most the people in just to start trouble with me. So I would not recommend this place to no one. All help ain't good help.

One star is too much honestly. These people do not help unless you have children. They "don't have funding like that" to help abuse victims that aren't with child. This place is a joke. The director refuses to return my call, it has been weeks. Considering I went to college for social work, I'm throughly disgusted. All of the staff here should be ashamed. Only there to collect a check and do a partial job at it might I add. Disappointed doesn't even scratch the surface of how I feel regarding the professionalism of this place.

A new life because I got away and a chance to restart the life I once hated waking up to!!! Terri, Evelyn, Jane... Miss Z... so many faces who gave me the strength to believe in myself again enough to know i deserved more!!! They loved me until I lived myself again and still in my life!!!! Sooo much more then a woman and children's shelter and the woman who run the programs are nothing short of phenomenal

I thank god for the underground. When I didn’t have anyone in my life besides my kids the staff made sure that me and my babies knew they cared. (Lakisha, Evelyn, Katie, Jane & Ms Z ) are what makes the underground so special. 🥹😭 without them I don’t know where I would be. Thank you so much Underground Railroad family ❤️❤️❤️

good donations never really make it to the main floor. Someone in the organization is profiting off the merchandise.
