My 4 children went to the progressive center daycare for about 4 months.. in that time my two youngest children got head lice repeatedly. We would get rid of it have them checked and cleared to go and have them clean for about three weeks and they would get it back again.. I understand head lice is nothing serious but they never sent out papers saying it was going around until I asked them to. And they did not check the children’s hair for it.. then a daycare staff member assaulted my 8 year old. Not once but twice. At the time the assault happened there was only that teacher miss kifat there were 15+ children in the classroom with only one teacher (which is way out of ratio) Inwas not called about the attack on my child which happened between 7am-8am I was not informed of the incident until 4:30 when I picked my children up. And then i wasn’t even given facts i was told the teacher physically sat my child in a chair which caused an injury to his shoulder, which was a lie. In front of the director Donna my children told us the exact events that took place and said there were no other teachers in the room. Donna said she would talk to the other children in the class. I took my child to the emergency room to be looked at he had bruises and scratches to his ribs and a red mark on his shoulder. The cops were called and children services.. the daycare allowed miss kifat to continue to work with the children until the state came in two days later and started investigations. She was then put on “desk duty”. We walked in the daycare to miss kifat being back. Donna never informed us she would be coming back i never had the chance to prepare my child that he was gonna face oh my goodness is abuser. I took them out of the daycare. Donna knew what happened because she spoke to my 4 children and all the other children in the classroom and the story was the same miss kifat attacked my son twice. So think twice before letting your children go there, they say they are all about protecting your children but they are more concerned about protecting child abusing staff members. Best of luck!
I used this daycare for a long time it used to be a good place but under new direction they have no respect for the privacy of the families they care for to the extent that they reached out to my job and other community resources with gossip that ended up endangering the child
