⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review I’m known as a helicopter mom—I even became a preschool teacher just so I could work in my son’s school. I always need to know my kids are safe. Enrolling my daughter at UGRO has given me total peace of mind. The live cameras are amazing, and being able to check in on her throughout the day is a huge comfort. The director, Kathryn, responds incredibly fast and always handles requests right away. The staff is kind, patient, and truly wonderful with the children. The facility is fantastic, especially the indoor play area that looks like Chuck E. Cheese on steroids—perfect for rainy or cold days. They provide meals, snacks, naps, activities, and even fun special guests like Santa. The best part is seeing my daughter run to her teacher every morning. I can work without worrying, and that means everything. Highly recommend UGRO!
As an educator and first time parent, it's incredibly difficult and nerve-wracking to pick a daycare for your baby. We chose U-GRO York based on extremely positive feedback from friends and colleagues. Mildred, Tracy, and the entire Lamb (Infant) room team have made this experience absolutely incredible for myself, my wife, and my child. Seeing my baby's face light up when she sees the care staff at U-GRO makes this experience worth it tenfold. Getting picture and video updates throughout the day puts my mind at ease, and truly illustrates just how much the staff at U-GRO cares. I would send my infant into the arms of these incredible people one hundred times over. Thank you for everything!!
We had a really good experience with York U-Gro. The director, Katie, is caring, responsive, and clearly dedicated to the kids and families. She has a great staff who genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. We especially appreciated Miss Jo in the preschool room. She provided wonderful structure, patience, and understanding, even on those tough days kids sometimes have. The indoor and outdoor play spaces are fantastic and were definitely a highlight for our child. While we weren’t always fans of the required lunch service and think a few rooms could use a little refresh, the overall level of care our child received was great. We’re thankful for our time at York U-Gro and would recommend it to other families looking for a caring and supportive environment.
We have been going here for 3 years now maybe longer and my twins love it. We have had no problems with the staff or the director Katie, she is great. They listen and make you feel welcome. They make my twins feel loved and appreciated..if you have any problems they are very quick to respond to you.
If you want to set your kid up for a bright future in cage death matches, you’ve found your early childcare provider. We had a decent start here about two years ago until my daughter was moved to another classroom. They have cameras, which sounds reassuring until you realize it’s mostly for show. We caught our daughter being restrained and handled aggressively by a staff member named Alivia. We called the police immediately and reported the incident to corporate. The police instructed the center to retain the footage but of course, they never did. Our detective even mentioned how UGrow corporate somehow “lost track” of the evidence request and then “oopsie daisy” the footage just disappeared. The new Director showed zero concern for what happened. Not one apology. Not even a hint of empathy while we were standing there with law enforcement. We got a generic email over the weekend saying the situation “should’ve been handled differently.” You think? If I’m running a daycare and a parent tells me a staff member is being rough with kids, I don’t immediately assume my staff are saints. But apparently, that’s the management style here. Parents watch those cameras like a hawk. And when (not if) you find something wrong, report it and follow up every single day, because evidence at this place has a way of magically “misplacing” itself. The police even mentioned they’ve never had trouble getting tapes from this daycare before, which only makes you wonder how many times they’ve had to. Good staff? Rare. Accountability? Nonexistent. The teacher in question was supposedly terminated, but no one could explain why. You don’t fire someone for nothing, so clearly, someone saw something. I strongly urge anyone considering this daycare to look elsewhere. For what you pay here, you’d expect at least basic safety instead, it’s a game of Russian roulette with who’s watching your kid that day. And before you come at me with the predictable “we take these allegations seriously” response save it. You had the chance to prove that, and you failed. You care more about covering yourselves than protecting the children you’re paid thousands to look after.
