What Parents Say
Trinity Episcopal Day School Inc receives consistently high praise from parents for its caring, dedicated staff and small class sizes. Parents highlight the school's flexibility, individualized attention to student needs (including special needs support), and strong academic and social development. The aftercare program is particularly valued for homework assistance and convenient bus pickup from local schools.
My son has attended TEDS for over 5 years, first in their day care program and most recently in aftercare (he’s in elementary school now). TEDS will pick him up from his school by bus and he stays there til pick up, usually around 5 pm. He completes his homework at aftercare (which is a HUGE help for working parents) and has developed good friendships with the kids in his grade. In fact, he gets annoyed if we pick him up too early! It is affordable and close to where we live. What I probably appreciate most about this school is their flexibility. My kids have attended many schools, daycares, and aftercare programs in Cranford and the TEDS administration stands out for its willingness to work with parents whenever they can. If my schedule changes, they will always try to accommodate me. It’s a bit of an old school institution which I think may stand out (their website is pretty old!), but I honestly appreciate that I just email the principal whenever there is an issue and she responds promptly. I’ve never had to download a special app for this school, and I thank them for that.
We are so grateful to be part of this school community. From the moment we walked in during the open house, it was clear that every child is valued and cared for. The staff goes above and beyond to meet the individual needs of students, especially children with special needs. I have a child who is nonverbal that attends the aftercare program. The teachers could not have been any more patient, understanding, and dedicated to helping her feel welcome. They were very receptive in wanting to know strategies and techniques to help her adjust to a different routine rather than dismissing her from the program. This school provides a safe, welcoming environment where children feel confident, supported, and encouraged to succeed. We could not have asked for a better place for our child to learn and thrive.
Small class sizes and good teachers. My two boys have gone to TEDS for 2-3 years. They love their teachers and are excited to go in every morning. We're very impressed with how much theyve improved academically and socially, and we think the smaller class sizes and teachers have a lot to do with that
My daughter is now a teenager, but she started attending school at TEDS when she was 2.5 years old. She stayed in the Aftercare Program until she was in 5th grade and COVID changed the world. The staff there were always caring and flexible: one time, both my husband and I were both stuck on the NJTpke in our NYC commutes with no one local able to pick up my daughter; a staff member stayed with her until 9pm! Needless to say, we were so grateful! When we had concerns about my daughter's development and readiness to move to the next stage (she's a summer baby and therefore young for her grade level), we received good assessments of her progress. When she was in first grade, we moved her to another popular aftercare program in town because that's where her friends attended. Frankly, my introverted kiddo was overwhelmed by the chaos there. She much preferred the smaller feel of the TEDS aftercare program; after a few months at the other program, we moved her back and she was so happy. My husband and I really appreciated the focused homework time during the aftercare program; she loved the staff members who helped her with math in particular! Now as a student at CHS, she works at TEDS part-time as an aftercare aide. She enjoys helping the elementary school kids with their homework, and I love seeing her move full circle!
Both our son and daughter have attended TEDS for Pre-K and aftercare over the past few years. The TEDS staff members are caring and effective teachers. Our daughter has steadily learned her letters and sounds in her Pre-K class. In addition, class sizes are small, allowing teachers to get to know each student well. As a result, the learning environment is less overwhelming than that of larger daycares. They also offer beforecare and aftercare bus services from all Cranford schools. We’ve been very grateful for our experience here. Thank you!
