What Parents Say
Traditions Children's Center V receives mostly positive reviews praising warm, professional staff and a clean, organized facility with excellent communication. However, several serious safety concerns have been raised including unexplained injuries to an infant and allegations of improper child handling, along with complaints about management decisions regarding COVID policies.
A Wonderful, Caring Environment for Our Child We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Traditions Children’s Center V. From day one, the staff have been warm, profesional, and truly invested in our child’s well-being and development. It’s been amazing to see how much Sebastian has learned — from social skills to early academics. The facility is always clean, safe, and well-organized, with age-appropriate toys and learning materials. Communication is excellent, the tool is really easy to use and we receive daily updates and sometimes photos, which gives us peace of mind and keeps us connected to our child’s day. What stands out the most is the love and attention the caregivers show. It’s clear that they genuinely care about each child, and that means everything to us as parents. Highly recommend to any family looking for a nurturing, reliable, and engaging daycare experience!
Started here with our first child in 2020 and have continued to trust and love Tradition’s V as we have continued to add more children to our family. All three of our kids go there and have done great work with them all!
I would highly recommend this center. My children have attended the daycare, before and after school program, and the summer program for school aged children. The staff is very professional. I like that the staff are there a long time and really know my children. Being a working parent can be stressful, but the flexibility and support from the staff at Traditions has been so helpful.
Had two children there and had children going there for 8 years. They’ve had amazing staff and was always happy there. Since Covid we have found that the owner lives in a constant state of Covid panic and refuses to move on from things like masks and is now offering a discount in an attempt to get the kids there vaxed. They have lost most their great staff over their owners fearful lifestyle and continue to do so. Seems the owner does not care what the parents think nor the staff only wants to enforce her own policies on everyone there. Moved on and very happy we did, our child is thriving at the new facility.
I DO NOT recommend this center. Our 6 month old infant child attended this center for a brief period of time. While there she sustained multiple bruises to her forehead, bridge of her nose, under her eye, and cheek all down one side of her face. Her eye was also scratched and swollen underneath and she sustained broken blood vessels to her eye. Our child was NOT mobile during this period. The center was not helpful and was not concerned about the injury nor were they interested in finding the cause of this injury. We understand things will happen, but our child was immobile and would not be able to cause these injuries herself. We were not notified at all of the injury, and the staff claimed they witnessed nothing, not even pain crying. Only after we spoke with the staff about our observations of the injuries and our concerns was an incident report produced. In the incident report, the staff claimed our child scratched her eye which led to the cuts on her face. The staff's "explanation" did not explain why our child's face was bruised or why she had broken blood vessels in her eye. From our encounters thereafter, the staff, including the directors, were not empathetic to the situation. This same establishment was recently on the news for their WDM location holding a young child under a Rubbermaid tote while laughing at the struggling child. Despite getting DHS and the police involved, our complaint will never be posted to the DHS website - why? Because DHS states that they don't know what happened to my immobile child while in the care of this center. Do your research and get referrals. Know what qualifications are required of staff. Look at the Iowa DHS website under Child Care Reports and review the complaints. Also call DHS and request copies of all complaints - those posted and not posted. Pay close attention to those Centers that have multiple complaints that are categorized as "unknown cause of injury." Several new centers in the area charge the same rates as this Center but have cameras and freely share access to their footage. These Centers have helpful and caring employees who are not afraid to be monitored while doing their job. This Center does not have cameras, not even for infant babies who do not have a voice or to explain in future cases what happened as in the case with our child. Look elsewhere!
