What Parents Say
Note: Reviews appear to be for the community center's gym, library, and recreation facilities rather than daycare services. Reviewers consistently praise the facility's cleanliness, modern renovations, friendly staff, and diverse amenities including gym equipment, library, youth areas, and outdoor facilities.
I want to start by saying I was SOOOO EXCITED when I found out this facility was opening up in my neighborhood. However, it really missed the mark on ALL fronts. 1) Rec Center: I was thrilled that we were going to get a gym closer to home that we could walk to (for a cheaper price). It sucks. The layout makes absolutely no sense. Why are the free weights on a completely different floor than the machine weights? Also, why do I have to walk around the track to even access them? They also dedicated way too much space to martial arts. Seriously, why does the punching bag room take up 3x as much space as everything else combined? 2) Library: Again, I was super excited that I would have a library closer to home to do work/study/etc. I was driving to Wright Farms to do that, and it turns out, I still have to. Even the previous York Street location was better. For one, there is no space for studying/doing work. They have absolutely no chairs/tables or study rooms outside of the teen center. Where are the adults supposed to go? If you're looking to check out a book, good. That's about all you can do here. 3) Creative suite: This is a cool idea, but it's nearly impossible to get into a class, and it's not just "open". I've been trying to sign up for an activity here since the grand opening and either the time doesn't make sense for working people or it's completely filled up as soon as it's announced. 3) Community Center: I think it's a bit bold to say you're a "community" center when there is almost nowhere to sit and chat or meet up with people. It's also clear that the planners thought a lot about kids/teen and didn't think about anyone else in the community AT ALL.
Went Aug. 23rd, a Saturday. Older lady at the front desk was kinda rude but everything else was just fine. Clean and quiet, would likely come here again, hopefully with a better receptionist assisting me.
Completely & beautifully redone. I work out there and it's really quiet and clean with nearly everything you need for a good workout. I only wish there was a leg press, an ab machine, and at least 1 mirror but for the price & convenience, it's great!
My favourite community centre! You can work out your body and your mind with the Anythink and indoor gym and outdoor facilities. Go here, it's worth!
This place is really nice. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the people were very pleasant. We went there to play bingo. Had a great time.
