The Young Schl Early Education Program

My son has attended the young school for 2 years now and it has been a great experience for him and us. I really appreciate the schools approach to learning and social development. I can see the improvements my son has made and he is building a great foundation to prepare him for primary school. My son enjoys every day he has at school and is always excited to share his daily experiences with us. I can tell the staff really care about the nurturing and well being of the students. Miss Nakia and Miss Kisha are great teachers. I highly recommend the Young School.

My review is long overdue! We’ve attended The Young School at Kendall Ridge for over 7 years with multiple children. I can tell that the new director, office admin and staff truly care and are actively investing in the continued improvement of the school, the connections with the parents, teachers and community, and fostering a rich environment for the child. The staff actively seek conversations with parents and are responsive to any questions/comments. The teachers are and always have been WONDERFUL. I feel The Young School has yet again reached a great place after the transition in management a few years ago. I’ve always trusted my children’s care at the school and would choose them over again and again.

We had a premature baby in the middle of our move to Maryland. We thought we had lots of time to get the house ready but it didn't work out that way. Needless to say having a half furnished house with a newborn was very challenging. We were nervous about the idea of putting our infant in daycare at such a young age. We researched and toured four local daycares and ultimately chose the young school. We are glad we did. Ms Susan and Ms Kimi have been great and the administration staff is super attentive and friendly. The school is clean and well run. Their communication has been excellent and they take great care of our son. We particularly like the SproutAbout app which provides regular activity updates on everything from bottle feeding to activities which makes us feel like we are involved even while away and provides a sense of security in understanding what transpires during the day. The hours are also convenient for us as is the location which never has morning traffic. We are so glad we found the young school and recommend them! - Darren

This is our first daycare experience after leaving a terrible daycare after about a week. We're so pleased. I love that I get to watch our toddler throughout the day. When I check in, I see him getting hugs from his teacher, interacting with activities or exploring the room. He left me and walked to his teacher to get picked up today. That's the best feeling when you have to send a child to daycare. Definitely recommend. Kudos to the team!

I have sent three kids to this school and love the fact that so many teachers have been there 20+ years. My kids are treated as individuals and the teachers work to help each child be successful. It is always a partnership between the school and home. I love that my kids get to enjoy extracurriculars (soccer, Fun Bus, music, etc.) and the curriculum is child-led, which allows the kids to explore ideas and concepts they truly love. The administration is always welcoming and supportive of family needs. One of my older children was lucky enough to be a YS kid and her love of learning is proof positive that children leave ready for kindergarten and beyond!
