Yea for Wonder Years. This was a amazing preschool that prepared our daughter for Pinewood. We wanted a preschool that actually taught the ABC's and basic R's and this is the place. When looking at other preschools, they were all "play" based learning which was pretty much playing and not much learning. Yea for Wonder Years. It is quite popular and there is usually a waiting list so hopefully you are starting your search early and reserving a spot.
TL;DR: greedy and careless. I am not happy with the admin and the staffs. They dont seem to focus on the kids but more around their parents' pocket. Their lock-in strategies (registration fee to be paid 6-months ahead of the school year starts, $1000 deposit which they wont return to you if you dont leave in the last month of the school year, etc.). Basically very greedy and careless. There was one day when I came around 3pm to pick up my daughter, she was face-down crying with two teachers seating in the class' corners with cellphones in hand. Then there's one cold day in December when I came by at 5pm, it was dark already, a few kids were outside with the temp under 60F, no kids had coach on, no teacher was outside. No surprise my daughter got a cold and had to stay home for a week. When she came back to school, I went to the admin and told the story, Melissa (the admin at that time) didn't seem to care, just saying: many kids were sick last week - of course, because you guys left them outside in the cold! One day, I needed to pick up my daughter early, I came by and stood outside the class, looking through the glassdoor, I saw Miss B. of the 1.5-years class pulled a girl brutally because she didn't stop crying. In 2017, there was wild-fire in California where most schools noticed parents and stopped outside activities for kids. It was not the case for this The Wonder Years. There was a planned pumpkin trip, and it happened even when the air-quality was very very poor. I had my kid here for around 6 months, and I regret it for the rest of my life. She was crying most of the times I dropped her off, but that stopped right away in her new school. And what's more, they took my kid in at 17-months old when their license is only for 18-months up. I should have reported.
Read the fine prints before signing up and paying 1100 deposit plus last month tuition. A month after we paid 1100, 5 months before the start date, we found out we were moving out of Mountain View so I let them know right away. I expected them to keep 400 deposit but not 700 that’s supposed to go toward the last month tuition. While I have no doubt that there is something that says it in the contract but it just seems so greedy.
