The Teddy Bear Club

Teddy Bear is everything a parent could dream of for their child. It is safe, nurturing, full of love — and provides a wonderful education. Before coming here, we had enrolled our daughter in a “so called” Montessori school. She was miserable, cried every night before school, and was constantly categorized and name called by her teachers. We knew something wasn’t right, and when we discussed what we saw, we were told she “wasn’t ready” for school. But we knew our child, sought professional advice, and made the move to Teddy Bear. The transformation was unbelievable. Suddenly, after one day, she was running to school and crying NOT to be picked up. She made friends immediately, began thriving academically and socially, and, most importantly, she could finally be herself. The love she receives from her teachers has even inspired her to dream of becoming a French teacher one day. What stands out the most is the care and individualized approach each child receives. The teachers are kind, patient, and always willing to discuss any concerns with an open and reasonable mindset. Their Heads, Derek and Laura, are one of a kind. The first years of life are so crucial in a child’s development, and when we see how safe, happy, and confident our daughter is at Teddy Bear, we know we made the right choice. We couldn’t ask for a better environment for our children.

Teddy Bear Club has made a world of difference to our son. He began with summer school when he was little over 2, and now he's 5 and the past years have been wonderful. We are not a French speaking family, but I believe the bilingual atmosphere at school is very beneficial because it helps children understand the concept of languages, and that people can communicate in other languages just as easily as in English. TBC's curriculum is very well-rounded and education is imparted in a warm, nurturing environment by amazing teachers. I would highly recommend Teddy Bear Club to all parents looking for a preschool with a difference.

We have sent both our children to the Teddy Bear Club and have been involved with the school for five years. We have experienced both the Newton and Lincoln schools and have been thrilled with the experience. The teachers are all phenomenal. The attention to the children is more than you can hope for and the environment is completely nurturing and pristine. Everything is done with the highest level of attention to detail and consideration for the kids. Both our children have adored all their teachers and we have felt over the years that we could not have made a better selection in schooling for their first experience. It has created a love for learning in both our children which was our sole goal. The children practice at length for projects and play productions that they completely love and the performances are always incredible orchestrations. At year's end the parents are given bound booklets of their child's best work through the year which we have saved and will have as amazing keepsakes of our children's early development. The teachers provide incredibly detailed reports twice yearly to cover all aspects of your child's development which are immeasurably helpful at home as well to focus in on strengths and weaknesses. We have commuted from Cambridge for both schools and the commute has been worth every minute for the experiences our kids have enjoyed. Additionally, and as a complete bonus, the families that we have met through Teddy Bear have been wonderful and long lasting friends. All the parents I have encountered all feel the same about the school - we are incredibly lucky to have had our children exposed to such an incredible school and experience. I truly cannot recommend this school highly enough for anyone looking.

We started sending our son there at 2 years old because we felt that he was too spirited and active for a regular daycare or preschool. We are so happy with our choice. The facilities are beautiful and clean, the curriculum is engaging and is reflective of students abilities through play and experiential learning, while the French speaking experience provides a multi-dimentional learning that builds brain function and provides children with the opportunity to begin learning about the global community. The teachers and administration are attentive and responsive to the parents' and children' needs, and you get a community that is supportive, caring, and genuine. The biggest bonus is that our son is excited to be there, loves learning, is happy to see his friends, and loves his teachers. Our son is going on his 3rd year at TBC and we are so excited that our daughter will be starting there in the fall too. I love love love the Teddy Bear Club.

My son started at the Teddy Bear Club in Lincoln the second year it opened. We were excited when that they opened a second site, and it surpassed all of our expectations. The staff and teachers are loving and great at what they do with an extra-special touch. The facilities are beautiful and pristine. The toys and materials are wonderful. The curriculum is age-appropriate towards the advanced end, which we enjoyed. The French immersion was great for my children, whom now have perfect accents. A special shout-out for Gwen and all of the teachers. I can't say enough great things. You need to visit to see and understand the difference.
