What Parents Say
THE SUNSHINE HOUSE #75 in Lawrenceville is a Head Start facility with consistently positive feedback from parents. All 10 recent reviews gave 5-star ratings, with parents praising the caring staff, strong leadership, educational focus, and secure environment. Children reportedly enjoy attending and parents feel confident leaving their kids in the center's care.
I will leave a review every week until this center understands how to treat their parents and children. We were parents at this center for almost 6 months and finally removed our child from this center last week, or better yet - we were kicked out. When it comes to Billing this center is awful. You cannot ask questions, have accurate or quick follow up, or even dispute charges that you know are incorrect. It's a system that will add additional fees to your account and Stephanie does not waiver when it comes to her faulty system. It is the worst customer service you could imagine. We also did not have a teacher for our child for months. This was never discussed and that plays a big role in a child's development. Our son was placed in the infant room and regressed because of this decision made by Stephanie and her staff. This further shows the level of care she had for us or our child. All of our children are money signs to Stephanie and Charlene. They do not care about the child's development or progress, they do not care to maintain healthy partnerships with their parents, and they do not hit the standards of what a quality daycare in 2025 needs or how it operates. We have found new care that is much better for our family all around and I am happy that Stephanie Dallas is no longer in my life to be a point of contention. I will make reviews and consult the necessary parties to ensure that your center operates in a way that is safe and positive for future families that want to give it a try or the city sees fit for it to be closed.
Wednesday was our last day at Sunshine House Lawrenceville after being removed from the program per the Director, Stephanie Dallas and Regional Manager, Charlene Taylor for refusing to pay a redundant registration fee of $125. We relocated to Gwinnett County 6 months ago and because I was familiar with the name, we committed to this daycare and paid a $125 registration fee upfront in March and our weekly tuition every week for the past 6 months. We all know childcare is not cheap, so the level of care should match what we’re paying. Especially, if you’re a stickler about collections like Stephanie is. Stephanie is a Bulldog when it comes to collecting tuition. Imagine being met with such hostility about money but not the same gumption for disgruntled parents with actual concerns. My child hasn’t had a teacher all summer. His teacher took another assignment at the beginning of the summer and there was no communication about her official departure. That’s something you should be overly communicating with your parents. But of course, Stephanie is silent about that and loud about a redundant fee of $150 that you so desperately need from my family. I will be taking my formal complaint to GA Decal Bright from the Start about this center and how they should conduct a full investigation on this center and its staff. If you are a parent reading this, there are great schools in the area where you and your child can thrive. Please don’t settle for this school like we did. 6 months wasted and a legal battle in front of me but this daycare has to be stopped and I have the time and resources to do it.
I am a current parent of this daycare that would not recommend this center for childcare. The director, Stephanie, is unprofessional and rude. As a paying customer of a franchise, I am very shocked to see reviews that also speak to her unprofessional billing policies, her misspelling of kids and parents in her center names (she constantly says my sons name wrong) and the amount of bruises our children come home with. I have reached out to the Regional Manager via phone and email and will see if I get a response. We just relocated to Lawrenceville and would love a professional, polite, and safe space for our son. Send any recommendations my way.
Sunshine House has been the most consistent positive experience I have had with a daycare. My kids have been at Sunshine for 2 almost 3 yrs and I have never had an issue. The director Ms. Stephanie is very accommodating and supportive of the parents as well as the children. She makes sure she knows all of the kids in her center and she spends time with them all. Both of my children adore her & have asked many times could they go visit her after school. There had been some turnover but sometimes it's necessary to get the right staff in place for the kids. My son has been in each class and now he is in Pre-K with Ms. Rowe. My husband and I love the job that she and Ms. Bowen is doing with our son. He is learning so much. I feel Ms. Stephanie has done a great job finding the perfect staff for her center. The assistant director Ms. Monique completes the picture for this school. She is very attentive to the kids and helpful to all of the teachers. If there is an incident it is addressed immediately. When my son fell she called me just to let me know he had fallen but he was ok. I trust them with my children. I know the staff as well as the administration is looking out for my childrens well being. My daughter graduated from Pre-K at Sunshine House and she is always excited to back so she could see Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Monique. I greatly appreciate the love & care they have given my children. I would recommend them to any & everyone.
AVOID THIS DAYCARE AT ALL COSTS! I'm writing this review as a concerned friend and advocate for a child who has been repeatedly failed by this daycare. On multiple occasions, my friend's child has been sent home with serious injuries, including a busted lip and a bloody face. What's even more appalling is that the daycare has consistently failed to notify parents or guardians about these incidents. No phone calls, no messages, no explanations. It's unacceptable and inexcusable. As a parent, it's horrifying to think that your child is being cared for in an environment where their safety and well-being are not being prioritized. The lack of communication and transparency from the daycare is a huge red flag. I strongly advise against sending your child to this daycare. The risks are real, and the consequences can be severe. Look elsewhere for a safe, trustworthy, and communicative childcare provider. 10/10 would NOT recommend this place.
