The Solid Rock Preschool & Mdo

My husband and I, along with two of our grandchildren attended services today, 9/21/25. We hadn’t been to church in many years and have been feeling a bit lost in our faith. Quite a few church members approached us and made us feel very welcome. The Pastor’s sermon was very engaging, relevant and enjoyable. We will definitely be attending again.

My family and I have been attending for several years. Through good times and bad the members have came along side us and genuinely cared about us. They truely have a love for Jesus and a heart for the community.

I recently found out that the elderly members of the church’s Sunday School were moved to the other side of the building. Honestly, I find this really disappointing. It feels like they’re being pushed aside or treated as less important, even though many of them have been part of this church family for over 20 years. That’s not the kind of respect or value I would expect to see from a God-fearing church, especially toward those who have given so much of their time and faith over the years.

I am pretty sure they hate old people here? The elderly Sunday school use to be right next to the sanctuary where the Pastor preaches, they've been there for years. Now all of a sudden they got moved clear across the hallway on the other side of the church. I'm 90% sure these old people are going to have a heart attack due to being forced to walk all that distance. Does the church plan to buy and provide electric wheelchairs like Walmart does? If not, than yeah, lawsuit waiting to happen. If purposely moving the elderly almost as far from the sanctuary as possible is not considered a form of discrimination, than I don't know what is.

This review is specifically for the preschool, not the church. Solid Rock is cheap , and u get what you pay for ! To start, We had a good experience in the 9m lambs class w Kelly and Cathy. Then, when it was time for my 2 year old to go to the next class, things went south. He was OK at first. Week two, his teacher left, and a new one was put in her place. He started having bad days every day after that, with maybe a 1 - or 2-day exception. The new teacher and director pulled me aside to tell me my 2 year old was unhappy and throwing tantrums. I asked what they thought it was because he was happy at home. They said hes "just defiant." The school director told me to talk to my doctor because " his emotional behavior was not normal for his age." The director even threw out the diagnosis of oppositional defience, which I KNOW as an RN, You dont diagnose that at such an early age AND no one should be diagnosing anyone if they are not a medical professional. She really should have known better than to say that. I did have my child formally assessed by a Parents As Teachers representative (who studies child behavior) at home and in the daycare setting. He was found to be a totally normal 2 year old who maybe needed more emotional support by his teacher. I also tried other things as a parent to help my child with being okay at drop off. They never offered a different classroom /different teacher. They just basically put all the blame on the 2 year old. They made me feel bad as a parent that my child was in the wrong bc he had strong emotions. On the last day he was there, I picked him up, and his 22 year old teacher told me how he had yet another bad day and was again " Just defiant." I was silent because I knew I wasn't bringing him back, so what she said didn't really matter. I simply said, " This is a lot to process." She responded to me ( a 38 year old mother of two) - "yeah well you are a first-time mom. "....ummmm Excuse me ?? We decided to go to Lullyby Inn, and he has THRIVED. He is happy w his teachers, and so am I. The staff there have never made me feel like he was a problem and can't believe anyone would say that he ever was defiant. He is so happy when I pick him up, and I feel safe with him there. I originally went to Solid Rock bc it was cheap. Classic example of you get what you pay for. The first two teachers he had as a baby were great , dont get me wrong. But the director and another teacher were my issue . That teacher is in the wrong field and needs to find her path. As for the director, shame on you. You're old enough to know better, and should have looked at the situation as a whole.
