The kids had a good time, but it proved to be more hassle than it was worth at the end of the day. It took me a week of emailing, messaging on fb, and calling leaving voice messages until I finally was able to get someone to contact me regarding scheduling a party. I was told the price would be $200, and that this included " $50 deposit, TWO workers to help set up, pass out skates, clean up after the party, and that I could arrive 15mins early to set up for the party. " I arrived at 12:35 (party scheduled for 1) NO ONE was answering the door, no one was answering the phone. I thought it was because I was a little early. ..NOPE. . All my guests started arriving by 12:45/12:50 I continued calling and ofcourse no answered any of the extensions. Guests, cake, ice cream, balloons, gifts, ALL of it piled onto the porch. Everyone standing around in the parking lot with their kids waiting. I was petrified there had been a scheduling mistake or something because by this time it's 12:55 and STILL NO EMPLOYEES had arrived to let us in! FINALLY at 12:57 ONE employee arrived. She said absolutely NOTHING when she approached the building. She walked up, unlocked the door and on into the building she went. I spent the first 20 mins of my daughters party in the kitchen area setting up for a party I should have been attending at that moment. The worker didn't help set up, didnt tell us where anytging was located, nor did she help clean up after. She went straight to the skate booth and that's where she remained until we cleaned everything up and left. She then grabbed the garbage bag from the garbage can and followed us out the door. I was NOT very pleased with the extreme lack of communication, disrepresentation, or the tardiness of the employee. The kids did at least seem to very much enjoy themselves, so that was a win.
My kiddo has gone to summer camp here for the last two summers and he loves it! The camp counselors are very kind and always seem happy to be with the kids!
I am not a big fan of this place. My kids like to choose here for their birthday parties sometimes, but I feel they could do better. It is a very old place that could use some sprucing up. The price is a little higher than average for a birthday party. The staff shows up late to let you start setting up for the party. There is a restricted lounge area upstairs that seems senseless to block off when it would be a great area for teenagers to chill. The most frustrating part was the people for the party after ours was there wanting to set up during the last thirty minutes of our party because they was booked to start the same time we were booked to finish. Unfortunately, I believe this is the only place in Morgantown that has roller skating.
Great place for a skating birthday party. The gym/rink is well-lit and cheerful. Shack staff were helpful at skate rental counter. There's a smaller party room and kitchen for serving food. Bathrooms are adequate. Parking is limited and the building needs some maintenance, but that's the nature of those types of facilities that do a lot of good for the community. Definitely recommend!
At an event for Adventurous Girl's club. The gym and kitchen were very clean. The DJ booth for roller skating is on a platform, built like a tree house, painted into a mural. It can be reached by climbing a ladder. It's a very clever way to save the space to allow for more room roller skating. (I wish I would've taken a picture to post in this review.) It's a very nice place to throw a birthday party or host an event.
