My toddler son has just about completed his first full year at The Seed. Every day, I am so grateful for his enrollment there. The Seed is a not “just” a daycare/preschool. It is an all-around nurturing environment where my child is absolutely thriving. He looks forward to seeing his classmates and chats fondly of his teachers. The collective experience and wisdom shared by the people who staff and run The Seed is beyond impressive - and comforting. Their professionalism, communication, and responsiveness is unmatched (not only in the daycare realm, but in business and life in general). I have never once felt that our parent/daycare relationship was that of simply a transactional, impersonal nature - indeed, quite the opposite, in that each and every interaction feels individualized and authentic. Everything is thoughtfully planned and communicated including weekly educational themes, activities, and nutrition. The Seed is entirely comprised of a group of kind, caring, competent, and gracious people whose mission is clearly to help children blossom.
I am writing a review as a former Seed teacher and now as a Seed parent. There is no other preschool that I would choose to send my son to. Our drive is 20 minutes to The Seed and it is worth it to know that my son is safe and his needs are met daily. The owners and teachers are doting, attentive and compassionate. For the three year old program, a main focus is to help children develop their social skills, which is a critical life skill. When I pick up my son from school, I am always greeted with a great big smile. I highly recommend The Seed for the ultimate care for your child(ren).
All three of our children attended The Seed Daycare and it was a wonderful experience for them and for us. We had been to a few other daycares and nothing else compared to the curriculum and care they received at The Seed. The group of owners of the Seed are wonderful people, and are actively engaged in all of the day to day aspects of the center which makes a huge difference in the level of care and attention, as compared to other centers. Our children were sad to leave once they entered Kindergarten, and we would highly recommend The Seed to anyone looking for quality care with a group of caring owners and staff that are truly invested in the care and development of children.
Our son attended The Seed Daycare from the age of 2 yrs 9 months to 4 yrs 8 months, and loved every minute of it. We visited 6 or 7 day cares in the area and after speaking with the director of education at Seed, really felt that it was the best place. Her understanding of children was much better than the others, and the approach she described was much closer to what we were looking for. Our son started in the youngest group, and it didn’t take long for us to be able to drop him and go.The teachers made both him and us feel comfortable from the first day. As he then moved into the next age group, and then the next, the teachers really got to know him, to understand both his strengths and the areas where he could use help, and really made an effort to meet him where he was. The play based system is perfect for young children, but at the same time they incorporate a lot of learning, almost seamlessly. Whenever we had questions about parenting, the answers we got were consistently helpful and informed. Indeed, they went out of their way to accommodate us. When we were ready to move on, they were particularly helpful in terms of what type of program he would do best in. In several cases, they shared very useful parenting related resources. The Seed is run by two very experienced, caring, and thoughtful educators who understand children and are truly interested in helping them learn and grow. The teachers they employ are equally good. We learned a lot both about our own child and about raising a child. Not least, we felt the food they served was very healthy, and let us feel that he was being well nourished. We will not soon forget the important role that the Seed had in our son’s early life.
After having had a child at The Seed for the last 5+ years, I can honestly say that no other school in its category compares. Both of my children have attended the program (including the full-day kindergarten) and loved every day while learning. This school's teachers are incredibly nurturing, experienced, and compassionate. They are so attentive and my children have always felt special in their care. I always felt confident about The Seed's high standards for hiring teachers as well. The staff turnover is incredibly low and this is no surprise as I have consistently observed how respectfully the staff is treated. A hot, nutritious lunch and snacks are served daily. The Seed also offers a wonderful summer camp program which facilitates the child's transition to their Fall classroom while providing so much fun with different daily activities. At the kindergarten level, the full day cost compared to the public school with aftercare is actually lower. There are no snow closings and a monthly Parents Night is offered on Fridays. I will be forever grateful to The Seed for giving my children such a great start in life! —Submitted by a parent
