These guys don't help anyone but themselves. I was in a very bad situation. I called, no one picks up the phone. Finally, the point is, after I survived the run around, turns out the bags full of good, healthy food were given to the people the guy distributing the food knew, and the rest of us got bags of chips and all sorts of junk food... really??? Salvation army can do better. I ended up going hungry that day.

The Lady Karen < I believe her name is > is just plain simply MEAN. I know someone that went there 12/11 Monday. This person is homeless, and hadn't eaten for two days. She rudely said to them we're closed today, then slammed a big metal door closed in their face. Today, 12/12/23 this same person went there, hungry not knowing the routine, and again, this same lady said rudely and abruptly "You need to call first, and make an appointment on January 2nd" and AGAIN rudely slammed the door closed in this persons face. HEARTLESS !!! January 2nd !!! Today is December 12th !! No Compassion. No Humanity to her whatsoever !!! If that is the way the she is, then she should NOT be working there !!! This same person went to the Bay Ridge Salvation Army on Friday 12/08 and was met with completely opposite results. They weren't even a resident of Bay Ridge, and the people there STILL HELPED. Giving this person enough food to last the weekend. The lady at the Sunset Park Location is a mean, and horrible person. Especially around the Holidays. She belittled a homeless person, who hasn't eaten for days. Good for her. If I had to say she has an evil heart. The person called me today crying at how he was treated there. SHAME ON YOU. The lady that works at the Sunset Park location. SHAME !!! Despicable that someone could treat a homeless person like that - days before Christmas.

Ohhh my... I know it’s Salvation Army but it can be better. No organization whatsoever. The drop off area is full of things, I literally had to put my stuff on top of other stuff. I think they need to declutter and give away things, or least sale it for a dollar. That’s the whole point isn’t it?

My problem is with the fact that no one picks up the phone I simply want to know if they are open because I don’t live close by and don’t want to go there and you are not open
