The architect should have gone to confession because the layout of the stinks! I understand what the architect was trying to do with his new design. It was all about viewing their Tabernacle. Unfortunately, I sat in the church on the side of the stage. Could not see the priest because the alter person's, alter and part of the archway that holds up the crucifix was in the way of priest. The following week, I sat on the opposite side of the stage. I still could not see the priest's face, and the only thing I saw was the back of the priest head unless he went to the pulpit to give his homily. The only area in which you can see the priest with no interruptions is directly diagonal from where the priest's sits or when he is at the pulpit itself. They should have left the priest station alone behind the altar alone. I did like the new baptismal area and new music stage for the musicians and organist. The two front confessional booths (statue areas) were removed, and the quiet room for the unruly and noisy kids was also removed too. There was a family of three that was extremely distracting for the entire duration of the mass. There was no place for that family to retreat to other than the rear of the church on outside of the vestibule of the church. They did have piped in sound and music and wished they exercise this option.
The work to renovate the church and the end product under Monsignor Pereda, Could not have been more spectacular! The church needed it badly! Monsignor Pereda is a kind pious pastor, always available to anyone that needs him. I am so very proud of my parish and our amazing pastor! May God bless our beloved St Paul The Apostle Church!
I feel the spiritual presence in this church when I pray at each station. The faithful need to visit this church and will be instantly filled with the presence of the Holy Spirt.
Beautiful church. The priest performed a beautiful ceremony for the children’s first holy communion.
