What Parents Say
The Ohio State University Child Care Program receives mixed reviews. Parents praise the attentive teachers and children's learning progress, but several express serious concerns about safety, cleanliness, administration responsiveness, and facility conditions. The university affiliation is viewed by some as a benefit for classroom learning support but criticized by others as justifying high costs without quality delivery.
Our son has attended since he was two years old. During that time we have seen tremendous growth in his learning and social skills. The teachers are all attentive and caring. Because it is ran by Ohio State University they have students learning to become teachers in the classroom on a daily basis. Each class is manned by two teachers and multiple OSU students. We couldn't ask for a better program for our child.
My child has attended this child care program for close to a year now. I've had an awesome experience. Teacher's are great; child has been progressing since week 1. I didn't give 5 stars because all around cleaning and smells could be just a little better other then that service is great.
After 18 months here, I can conclude this is quite a horrible place, they have some good teachers but there are really bad ones on the older age scale who do not care about the kids. Administration is numb, they do not communicate well. Food is below average, service is poor, dirty dishes on the hallways. The place is old, stinky, no surveillance security present. They charge you one grand for the OSU label and that is all... avoid.
Terrible place, do not put your kid here. Our son has been left dirty, the playground is unsafe, kids are neglected. We are concerned about safety. We saw a kid fall off the top of the slide with no teacher in site. Our son has had big cuts (for his size) and has had bleeding multiple times. They just can't handle the number of kids they have. The food is mediocre, and their tuition rates are higher than private daycares. Go elsewhere, we've tried talking to administration and they don't seem to really care, nothing changes.
Teachers are awesome, but the front gate lady has an attitude problem. I wished that I could pass the door without her every single morning. Luckily my child had wonderful teachers.
