I can’t say enough positive things about this amazing program! Our daughter has attended The Little Village Montessori School for two school years and can’t wait to “go to school” in the mornings. Miss Mya, Miss McKenzie, and Miss Chris truly have a unique calling for fostering a love of learning and inspiring children in the most magical of ways. We were new to the Montessori Method, but already see the incredible pathways to learning it has created in our child. She is curious about her world and excited to learn and play every day with her amazing teachers and friends. The class size is small and the setting is calm and inviting. TLVM also has a great community of parents and supportive community members from the local University of North Georgia, as well as surrounding churches. They also offer an afterschool program, as well as various camps during the summer. There is no other school in the area that will love and teach your children as well as these amazing women do!
Our two daughters have both attended The Little Village Montessori School. I have only positive things to say about this school. We were new to the Montessori method, but have been impressed with the results. The teachers at TLVM create a warm and welcoming environment. Our kids feel supported to explore the subjects they find interesting. As a recent example, our four year old daughter brought a book she had chosen from the local library to school about volcanoes. The rest of the week she came home and told us about what she had learned that day about volcanoes. On Friday, she came home with a small clay volcano she had molded and painted. That was so awesome to us, almost like magic :). Our oldest daughter has since entered the local public school here in second grade and has performed at a high level. We really love TLVM and the wonderful women behind this special school.
TLVM is a true hidden gem of a school in the mountains of North Georgia. I am forever grateful for the respect, guidance, and nurturing care provided by the teachers. My son attended for almost 2 school years before we received military orders to another location, otherwise we would have enrolled our other child as well. I wish I could take the teachers with us! The curriculum fosters a love of exploration and learning in the children, while teaching them how to be confident, authentic, and compassionate humans. The attention to detail and individual focus and understanding of each child is truly a gift to the kids that attend. Each individual is met where they are at and guided to excel. Thank you TLVM!
Little Village is a wonderful program. I could share so many good things, but to keep this short I will share what has made the biggest impression: Ms. Mya and Ms. McKenzie have a willingness to work with parents to learn how to best support individual children where they are developmentally. Their natural talent of working with young children is further bolstered by their posture of flexibility and support for each child. Ms. Mya and Ms. McKenzie met my neurodivergent child where she was and leaned in: They read suggestions from her OT and her play therapist, and applied the suggestions in the classroom with the goal of helping my child be successful in their program. My child was not the only one there that needed flexibility and support, and they handled each child's abilities and differences wonderfully. Their skills, insights, talents, and over all posture and approach to leaning in and helping each child be successful in their program is rare and is to be treasured.
This school is absolutely amazing. They cultivate the love of learning Into the children that attend. My toddler had such a hard time being separated from me until he started to attend this school. The teachers treat my child with respect, love and kindness. I cannot recommend enough. The class size is small and the curriculum is unique and fun!
