What Parents Say
The Learning Place Academy receives mixed reviews with significant concerns about management and safety practices. While some parents praise the teaching quality and teacher engagement, multiple serious incidents including a child left on a van for two hours and licensing issues have been reported alongside complaints about the director's behavior and billing practices.
I would NOT recommend this Daycare for the simple fact The Director Yvonne Shaw is VERY nasty...They are about to loose their child care license for the simple fact that she didn't report to Bright From the start that her husband had a criminal back ground and After the incident of her husband leaving the child on the bus he wasn't supposed to be on the child care premises at all but Bright from the start found out and served her the paperwork stating that their license are getting revoked. As for the Director Yvonne Shaw is a very nasty person she will talk to you in ANY kind of way and not think twice about it and she OVER charges parents who pay out of pocket after they lost caps....This is not the way you treat people...If you want your child in a Great child care setting please look somewhere for this isn't the place they have to many repairments needed to the building it The windows leak Badly when it rains you have to put a towel down in front of the door to help stop the leak. as I said before don't come to this daycare...
My child has been there going on two years. I am very pleased. I am also very picky. I wanted my daughter to have more than a baby sitter. I wanted her to be taught. The kids really learn. They don't just play all day. They have mature teachers working with kids. You all see a genuine concern for the kids by the teachers. I give the school two thumbs up!!
My son attended this center for about a year. This was by far the worst experience that I have ever had in my life. My experience here was like something out of a movie. So hard to believe, while I was enrolling my son I explained to the owner that I would not be able to make the Monday payments because I get paid on Thursday. We then agreed that I could pay on Thursdays without a late fee added. A few months later out of the blue she started charging me a 10 dollar late few without any notice. When I asked her why she said it was because some other parents didn't make their payments on time and that nothing could be done. I was forced to pay extra money each time. At the ended of the school year when I couldn't attend the pre-k graduation that I was told about 3 days in advance she told me that my son could not attend school on that day. I had to call in for work. Most days I had to rush to work because it says they open at 6 but the employees don"t even get there most days until 6:10-6:15. That was the main reason I enrolled my son there in the first place because they advertised that they open at 6 which they do not. In my opinion these people must be hard up for cash or something and will try anything to get extra money at the expense of others the best way the can. I stood in these lady's office and cried my eyes out because I have never missed a payment and she knew that. She stood up and said well this can just be your last day, knowing that I could not just ended my son's childcare just like that. I could not believe that I was being treated this way especially when I try my best to do everything right. My son is now at a wonderful childcare center where as soon as you enter the building you can feel the love and kindness and they are here to help the parents instead of creating difficulties for them. Today I feel so much better I feel as though a bad weight has been lifting off of my shoulders. I hope my review helps someone else dodge a bullet. Be Blessed!
My child has been in their for a month or two now. And I feel really comfortable having her their. I am one of those picky moms when it comes to daycares. I will check out daycares, ask questions, and do my own observations before I place her in one. I think you just have to go with your gut instinct at times when it comes to daycares. Your gut is usually right. I like how the teachers put a special effort in writing little notes of how much she eats. It helps me out a lot. I like to peek at my daughter before I pick her up. And when I do that the teacher is always doing something with the kids. So, glad I found this daycare. Good luck to all you parents searching for daycare. I know ya'll will pick the best one that suits ya'lls child!
I had a great experience and I'm excited my daughter Madison finally found a daycare family π
