The Learning Experience

Our child attended this daycare from August 2025 to January 2026, and it was by far the worst experience we have ever had. During her time here, my 2-year-old experienced abuse, lack of adequate meals, and exposure to angry and aggressive teachers who showed little to no care for the children or their families. My daughter would come home telling us that her teachers said the directors, “did not like her parents.” When asked who said this, she consistently replied that her teachers told her. No child should ever be involved in adult conflicts, especially at such a young age. One of the most alarming situations occurred when my daughter suffered a febrile seizure which we strongly believe was due to their lack of proper supervision and response. This is especially concerning because the daycare had her seizure action plan and allergy plan on file. Despite having clear medical instructions, they failed to provide the level of care required to keep her safe. As a parent, this is absolutely terrifying and unacceptable. Another serious incident occurred when a teacher shoved my daughter to the ground, an incident I personally witnessed. I reported it immediately and was told it would be handled. Nothing was done. Even more disturbing, one month later that same teacher, was awarded “Teacher of the Month.” This made it very clear that child safety and accountability are not priorities at this center. Anytime concerns were brought to the directors, they became defensive and upset rather than addressing the issues. Management and area managers repeatedly promised action, but no follow through ever occurred. Parents are misled during enrollment, and once your child is in their care, their true colors show. The franchise owner, Elizabeth, was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional during a meeting we requested with teachers and management. Instead of addressing concerns, we were treated as liars and spoken to in a demeaning manner. She even rushed the meeting, stating she only had 10 minutes because she didn’t want to be stuck in traffic. Not once did she attempt to reassure us or make us feel comfortable leaving our child there. We were eventually told that we should remove our daughter if we “always had concerns.” As educated, involved parents with college degrees and professional careers, the way we were spoken to was shocking and unacceptable. I became emotional during the meeting, not because of anything said to me but because I could only imagine what my child may have been experiencing if this is how parents are treated. There is a constant revolving door of teachers, which speaks volumes about the work environment and stability of care. While we tried to make it work especially since we had heard positive experiences about other locations, this specific center is unprofessional, unsafe, and emotionally harmful. This location does not represent what TLE claims to stand for. We have escalated this matter to the regional manager and provided documentation, including incident reports, inappropriate after-hours communication from the director, proof of the teacher shoving our child being rewarded instead of disciplined, and records related to our daughter’s medical plans. We ultimately removed our daughter from this environment. I would not recommend this center to any parent seeking a safe, nurturing, and professional daycare for their child.

Our family has had an exceptional experience with The Learning Experience in Livingston, and I truly cannot recommend this preschool enough. Our son, Ryder, attended TLE Livingston and recently graduated out of the preschool program, and the growth we’ve seen in him has been incredible. From the very beginning, the staff at TLE Livingston made us feel welcomed, supported, and confident in our decision. The teachers are caring, patient, and genuinely invested in each child’s success. They took the time to understand Ryder as an individual, nurturing his academic, social, and emotional development while helping him build confidence and independence. The curriculum is engaging, structured, and developmentally appropriate, offering the perfect balance of learning and play. Ryder came home excited to share what he learned each day, and it was clear he was being prepared for the next stage of his education. The consistent routines and organized classrooms created a secure environment where he could thrive. Cleanliness, safety, and communication were always top priorities. The facility is well-maintained, and the staff communicates clearly and consistently with parents, which provided great peace of mind. Any questions or concerns were always addressed promptly and professionally. What truly sets TLE Livingston apart is the warm, family-like atmosphere and strong sense of community. Ryder built meaningful relationships with his teachers and classmates, and we always felt valued and supported as parents. Because of the wonderful experience we had with Ryder, I am currently pregnant and already planning to enroll our next child at The Learning Experience in Livingston without hesitation. That alone speaks volumes about the trust and confidence we have in this daycare. We are extremely grateful for the foundation TLE Livingston provided for our son and highly recommend this preschool to any family looking for a high-quality, nurturing, and enriching early childhood education

We have been at TLE Livingston for over 5 years. My daughter started Kindergarten this year and has excelled. She went into school very well prepared to learn to read and she's excelling in math. Our youngest is still attending in the Preppers group. The staff are always lovely. Every teacher knows my children (and all children) and treat them with patience and kindness. We feel very lucky to have them. I absolutely trust that while my kids are at TLE that they're cared for, they're engaged, and they're learning.

Before my son joined this school, I noticed that he was behind academically and verbally, I was told to give him time he was still under 2 yrs old but I knew something was off. My sister always recommended TLE and so I decided to enroll him in and let me tell you, it has been one of the best things I’ve done. He began identifying colors, shapes and increased his vocabulary within 2 months. The staff are genuine, super kind and helpful, such a breath of fresh air when I walk in. I recommend this school for your little one ten toes down.

This daycare is not a suitable or safe environment for children. Our child experienced bullying and mistreatment, and we repeatedly felt that the staff did not treat children with the care and respect they deserve. Meals were inadequate, yet tuition increases every January with no improvement in quality or care. We ultimately made the decision to remove our child due to these issues, along with other personal and sensitive concerns we do not feel comfortable sharing publicly. Parents pay a significant amount of money, and it is deeply upsetting to see children treated this way in return. Staff behavior is concerning. They present themselves one way to parents, but their actions toward children when parents are not present appear very different. Management is unprofessional, unresponsive, and shows little genuine concern for the well-being of the children. It feels as though children are viewed primarily as a source of income rather than children who need care, patience, and support. Many of the teachers are very young and lack proper childcare experience. There was one outstanding teacher who truly cared for our child and the other children, but she is no longer employed here. Her absence was very noticeable. Additionally, their Bloomfield location has similarly troubling reviews, including reports from parents alleging physical and verbal abuse by staff. This raises serious concerns about how this organization operates across its centers. Parents, please do your research and consider other options. This daycare does not provide the level of care, safety, or respect children deserve. The staff are welcoming and attentive at first, but once enrolled, the quality declines quickly. We strongly regret sending our child here and would not recommend this center to any family.
