The Joy Of Children

This preschool is really recommendable. My 4 year old daughter has been a child who has learned order and rules here for more than a year. Teachers discipline smoothly, patiently and firmly. Although it is not a state-of-the-art facility, my daughter receives an education that should be provided for her age. My child became to enjoy vegetables and beans through the meals served here. There is no racial discrimination just because we are Asian. The two directors(owners) give hugs and kisses to the children, and show love and respect to the parents. I think it is a great blessing to know this place.

I wanted to take a moment to rave about this incredible, one-of-a-kind, magical school! I don’t write many reviews, but I felt compelled to share how special JOC truly is! I’m a mom of four and only discovered JOC a year ago. My youngest is 4, and we’ve decided to keep him here instead of sending him to our local TK. I only wish we had found this school sooner! What makes JOC so special is that it isn’t just a preschool—it’s a true labor of love. The owners pour their hearts and souls into everything they do. Every child is made to feel seen, cherished, and truly valued. Because of that, my son feels happy, safe, and deeply nurtured every single day. He’s learning, growing, and becoming more confident—not just as a student, but as a kind and thoughtful little human. We are so grateful to be part of this wonderful community. JOC is a rare gem, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly.

JOC Preschool has nurtured and empowered so many kids while developing strong minds and kind hearts…for 35 years! 7 years in TX and 18 years here in Folsom. The owners/teachers Ms. Alecia and Ms. Elaine as well as their Joy Makers/Assistant Teachers, are very passionate about empowering children, teaching them to be kind, loving and respectful while providing a loving, caring, structured environment so the kids come out better prepared for Kindergarten. They really treat our children as their own children, even up to now. Because once you’re a JOC family, always a JOC family! Not only do they empower the kids, but us parents as well. We learned so much about love and kindness, about patience and what truly matters when raising a child. We found out about them upon the recommendation of a TK teacher from a private school for 17 years. In all her years of teaching, she said kids who come from JOC always came better prepared skill-wise as well as socially, mentally and emotionally. And it’s true! Now that we’ve experienced them, and have seen TK programs in other schools, we strongly recommend if you want your child to be better prepared for K or even 1st grade, enroll them to JOC! You’ll soon realize you’ve done one of the best decisions in your life as a parent for your child, and your family!🙏🏻♥️🏫💞

The prices are relatively lower compared to other places, so the facilities are somewhat outdated. The education provided is basic but a bit lacking. They prioritize a natural environment, so they don't use much lighting, making the indoors a bit dark. They regularly hold events inviting families to help parents connect with each other.

This is the most wonderful preschool. My son has been attending since January and we’ve seen such a positive difference in him since then. Not only has he grown academically, but he is generally a better child. The teachers know how to make learning fun and they genuinely love preschoolers. I cannot recommend highly enough.
