The Goddard School

We selected The Goddard School in Greenwood due to its close proximity to our home, PTQ level 4, and the positive first impressions we had during our initial interactions. At the start, staff appeared professional and attentive. However, shortly after enrollment, we learned that the family whose spot we filled had not relocated for work as initially conveyed, but instead withdrew their child following a safety-related incident involving their older child. This information understandably raised concerns for our family on several accounts. Within a short period of time, our child experienced multiple incidents on consecutive days, which led us to raise safety concerns with management. Unfortunately, our concerns were met with a defensive response rather than open dialogue. Communication felt dismissive, and we did not feel supported as parents advocating for our child’s well-being. Additionally, there were notable changes in classroom staffing for the remainder of our time at the school. We later joined another family in voicing concerns related to staff practices, including diaper-changing procedures. Rather than addressing these concerns transparently, we were met with resistance and questioning of our concerns. Despite proposing reasonable solutions aimed at improving communication and easing our concerns, we were ultimately informed after multiple conversations that the program was “not a good fit” for our family and were given one month to secure alternative childcare. This decision followed a previously discussed plan with the business owner, who unexpectedly reversed his position the following day. It left us feeling that staff interests were prioritized over collaboration with families and, most importantly, over the best interests of the children. In hindsight, this experience was a blessing, as our current childcare provider actively encourages parent feedback, communicates openly, and works collaboratively to address any concerns. Unfortunately, we did not experience that level of transparency or partnership at The Goddard School in Greenwood. Management appeared focused on protecting staff rather than listening to and working with families who entrust them with the care of their children. We share this experience to provide transparency for other families considering this location and to acknowledge that others have shared similar concerns. Our hope is that this feedback encourages greater openness, accountability, and family partnership moving forward.

We have had an incredible experience with Goddard School Greenwood. My children have been part of the school for years, with one child having gone all the way through, another nearing graduation, and our youngest just about to begin their journey. They absolutely love it here! The education and care they receive are truly top-notch. What stands out most, however, is the amazing staff. Every teacher is kind, attentive, and dedicated, and the office staff is always a pleasure to work with. The facility itself is always clean and well maintained. I've been so impressed that I've recommended them to three different family members, and they've all enrolled their children and are just as happy. We are so thankful for the Goddard School Greenwood team and all they've done for our family.

I have had 2 kids already complete their time at Goddard, and went through Kindergarten more than prepared. They have flourished in school with the head-start given thanks to Goddard. The consistency of the staff and teachers has been amazing. The kids are so comfortable with the teachers and my older kids still enjoy going back in to see their old teachers. The communication is always great from the leaders of the school, and the development of the kids is unmatched. My 2 year old comes home with new and impressive things they have learned every single week. I cannot say enough positive things around our experience at this Goddard. The owner is present, and see him often as well.

My daughter has been a student at Goddard for the past 5 months and we could not be happier with the school. The teachers and administrative staff are phenomenal. They all go out of their way to make the students feel welcome and safe. We chose Goddard after a tour of the facilities and a meeting with the owner. The school has a fantastic approach to early education while also providing a very nurturing atmosphere for the kids. As a parent, the teachers and administrative staff always take the time to answer any and all questions I have. The class sizes are small and I am always confident that my daughter is getting enough attention and care. The school takes safety and security very seriously which helps put my mind at ease. I also love that I get photos throughout the day and a Daily Report each day telling me what my daughter ate that day, what activities she engaged in, and what skills they are trying to focus on and develop. I can't say enough good things about this school! My family is so grateful to have found Goddard and for the teachers and staff!

Our 2 year old daughter has been at Goddard for about 5 months now. We have been very pleased with the experience so far. She enjoys and looks forward to going to school in the morning. The staff is very friendly, they communicate well and respond quickly to feedback. I feel better about the security at this school as usually the director or assistant director have to buzz you in, so staff is always present at the entrance. Also, the level of activity and organization of the activity is really impressive. I really like the special activities, such as when they have guests like firefighters, farmers and some animals, water days, musical guests and more. I really feel as if my daughter is getting a diverse experience. Finally, the digital communication and pictures throughout the day of our daughter is really enjoyable as well.
