Since the change of directors in October, the new administration has been frustrating beyond reason. On the new administrators first day at the school, the new director Amanda didn't say hello or acknowledge the greetings from my son, instead she yelled at my son for running. Moments later she yelled at two 2 year olds to stand closer to the wall. The first Friday with the new director there, my husband picked up my sons for lunch which was already scheduled and approved with the teachers and previous administration. The director said they could absolutely not return after lunch. After a short discussion with the adamant director, my husband took PTO to stay home with the kids after lunch. The following week I was told by two other parents that their kids were allowed to come back after being picked up during the middle of the day. I spoke to Amanda about this and she started out by speaking poorly of the dad who picked up his boys for lunch and simply expected them to take the kids back (not knowing it was my husband). During this conversation she also lied to me twice during the conversation about the interaction with my husband and the schools policies. She also bad mouthed the teacher who was standing within 10 feet of us which took place in front of the entire class of children. She told me it makes the administrations job much harder when the parents talk to eachother so much. She ended by saying that Fishers and Carmel parents just have higher expectations than other parents. The new administration asked the teachers not to speak with parents and as a result, Amanda followed me up to my sons classroom to verify the teachers and I didn't talk. Following our prompt departure from the school, there was an exodus of at least 10 children in the seagulls class, several calls to the state regarding being out of ratio, the director physically grabbing a child by their arm, teachers screaming at children, children being assigned chores (including taking out the garbage and a designated tattle tale), and children being left in urinated clothing for the day on multiple occassions. As a parent who would never want this for my own children, I would not recommend sending your children here. I hope every parent does their due diligence for any daycare their child attends. When you do, I recommend starting by inquiring about the turnover data of teachers and students since October 2025. Lastly, I find it in poor taste that the school responded to the last negative google review after that parent failed to receive a response or simply an acknowledgment of their concerns after emailing the new administrators and the owner directly. It would be helpful to communicate to the parents before situations escalate.
It pains me to write this because we have had a wonderful experience at Goddard for many years until a change of directors in October. This caused many of the established teachers to leave and the atmosphere has completely changed. What was once a fun, caring, joyous atmosphere at the school has now degenerated into a stress-full place where the children complain of consistently being yelled at, communication with teachers has broken down, teachers have been constantly shifting around, and 70% of the preschool class have left since October. Health and safety standards seem to have been abandoned because children are being left in soiled clothes for hours and sent home that way. The directors and owner have completely ignored these health and safety concerns when raised so we had to immediately pull our children from the school because if obvious neglectful things are being ignored, what less obvious problems are there. I truly hope they can get this turned around because it was once a wonderful school and there are a few excellent teachers still holding on there, but I cannot recommend sending your children there at the current time.
As a person who has children I wanted to take the time to make a review on things that’s going on in this school. I want to start of my talking about management more specifically Amanda she doesn’t greet parents in the morning very rude. Teachers here hide alot about how they feel when you can tell they aren’t supportive. Children leaving back staff quitting or getting fired is insane. Friday I walk by a classroom upstairs and hear a teacher talking to another teacher about a situation that happened but it sounded like a threat to another co worker. I pick up my niece today and didn’t even see the teacher that I heard another teacher threatening her wasn’t even there. Has me wondering what is really going on here. That prek room has lost lots of children i feel bad for the teacher. Theres alot of sneaky things going in i dont like it.
We absolutely love sending our son to The Goddard School! From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew this was the perfect place for him to learn and grow. The teachers and staff go above and beyond to create a warm, nurturing environment where he is not only well taken care of but also thriving academically and socially. They are also more than just educators—they are family. They love and support our son as if he were their own, and we have complete peace of mind knowing he is in such caring hands. We couldn’t ask for a better experience and highly recommend The Goddard School to any parent looking for a safe, loving, and enriching environment for their child!
We love the Goddard School Fishers Central! Our son is learning so much everyday, and the teachers and staff have become family. It is so evident how loved each and every child is at school. It’s simply the best place for your child to be!
