The Goddard School

My son is enrolled in the gecko pre-k class at the Goddard about five months now and it had been an amazing experience. Prior to that, he was with a private nanny. It was a tough transition as he had extreme separation anxiety which was heartbreaking to watch, but after a week, we saw him thriving and smiling again. The change was alot quicker than we expected. The front staff has been welcoming and helpful with all my questions, which reassured my decision. They update us regularly on things that are happening. The teachers have gone above and beyond, you can tell they enjoy what they do and remain calm during conflicts which helped the transition for my son. I love the fun activities, arts and crafts and themes of outfits to wear for holidays/ seasons they do to help get them ready for kindergarten, and there is some form of structure. They update once a day with things they do with pictures and that’s reassuring. Ms Jackie is the best, we love her energy, very creative and he can’t wait to go to school the next day. It has been transformative for our son! We have to pack our own lunch but that was a perk for us since I like to prepare healthy snacks and meals for my son.

The Goddard School on Frate Barker in South Austin has been wonderful for our daughter. The building is clean and well maintained. The staff have great tenure and attitudes. The management is transparent and communicates promptly when things come up. You must bring your own lunch, but they do serve snacks throughout the day. (edited for grammatical errors)

I couldn’t have asked for a better preschool experience for my child! From day one, the warmth and professionalism of the teachers and staff stood out. They created such a nurturing and supportive environment where my child truly thrived — both academically and socially. The curriculum was great! It blended play and learning in a way that kept my child excited to go to school every day. I watched my child grow in confidence, curiosity, and kindness thanks to the dedication and care of the amazing team. The communication from the school was always clear and consistent, and it was obvious how much love and intention went into every aspect of their program. The teachers were not only knowledgeable and experienced, but genuinely passionate about early childhood education. We’re so grateful for the strong foundation this preschool provided — it has made such a positive impact on my child’s development and love for learning. Highly recommend to any family looking for a place where their child will be supported, inspired, and celebrated!

Goddard has been a wonderful experience for our family. The staff is caring and supportive. The teachers are patient, positive and committed to your child’s development. Our family’s time at Goddard has been great. Both my boys were there for about 8 years. The school is safe and clean. The curriculum and activities are top notch. The teachers and admin are consistent, knowledgeable and professional. They truly have been an integral and irreplaceable part of our village in raising young children. My boys have been happy and healthy in their care and learned so much!
