This is our first year with the Farm School, but we absolutely love it! The signup process was easy, the staff is super friendly and helpful and they have an amazing group on Facebook that gets together for activities and such. I will stay with The Farm School as long as we decide to continue the path of homeschooling.
This school does everything they can to teach children to think for themselves and make educated decisions. The curriculum is student driven. My own son created his own class with a faculty advisor to help guide him. They only classes that are mandatory are the basics, reading, writing, math and science. The only thing not positive I have to say is that the school is so small they cannot deal with special needs children. They simply don't have enough staff.
the school has some plus points and some negative points on the plus side, it is a school in nature with a more nature-based curriculum than most which is awesome! on the negative side, many have had negative experiences here and the staff is sometimes overwhelmed and some children fall through the cracks without adequate structure and enriching enough learning environment be sure to check it out thoroughly before making a commitment because it is definitely a unique type of school
We LOVE The Farm School!! I enjoy giving my son an alternative to a "structured traditional" education.
This is our first year with the farm school satellite school. They have been very helpful with all my questions so far .I don't think we will ever go back to public school.
