What Parents Say
The Family Tree Child Care Center receives mostly positive feedback from parents who praise the warm, nurturing environment and strong focus on social-emotional learning and school readiness. However, two negative reviews cite staff turnover issues and concerns about developmental appropriateness of expectations for younger children.
We LOVE Family Tree. Our daughter attended from infant to toddler while we lived in Pepperell. Now that she can express herself better with her words, she lets me know how much she loves circle time (by making me participate in her own version that she leads at home) and how much fun she has learning with her teachers (by modeling behaviors at home like “what shape is this?” and “show me that” with puzzle pieces and then when I get it right, I get a good job and high five every time 😂). Thank you to every teacher for all of your kindness and care for her and our family. We’re going to miss our Family Tree family and wish we could take you all with us!
While my daughter was treated fairly by her teachers in both the Caterpillars and the Bees Room, by the time my son made it to the Caterpillars room, all of the kind, loving, caring, competent, empathetic teachers had left. Every day we picked him up to negative reports for things that are completely developmentally appropriate (not being able to sit still during circle time, playing with bark mulch while outside, not getting himself dressed for outdoor play in the snow, etc). Even after a dozen evaluations stating that he is not eligible for special needs care, "leadership" harassed us for almost a year until we voluntarily left the center for a childcare way less convenient for our family. We were not going to wait to fall into the same pattern of being terminated after jumping through a hundred hoops because the teachers are not up for caring for a little boy that just needs a little support. Very disappointing for how much money we were paying.
Our children started at Family Tree as infants and stayed through their early childhood years. Even now, two years later, they still ask to go back and visit in the summers—that’s how much this place meant to them (and to us). The owners and staff are truly exceptional—warm, nurturing, and genuinely invested in every child. There’s a genuine family feel at Family Tree, and we’ve formed lasting connections. As a school psychologist, I’ve been consistently impressed by the center’s thoughtful curriculum and the way social-emotional learning is seamlessly woven into the day. The focus on school readiness—academically, socially, and emotionally—gave our kids such a strong foundation. They also loved the amazing crafts, engaging science projects, and hands-on learning experiences that sparked their curiosity and creativity. We’re so grateful for the years we spent at Family Tree—they gave our children such a loving, enriching start. And we’re not alone—every Family Tree family we’ve met has felt the same deep appreciation. If you’re looking for a place to truly entrust with your child’s care and early learning, I couldn’t recommend Family Tree more highly.
Great place for kids. My kids work on important skills all day, the growth I have seen in just one year has been wonderful. I highly recommend Family Tree.
Would not recommend, Why pay to have you kids unattended when you could just have it done for free?
