We love EPS. I looked at every preschool in Lake Forest, and the moment I met the EPS director, Melanie, I knew it was right place for our family— she sets a warm, caring tone that everything else flows from. The teachers are engaging and kind, which made those first drop-offs easier. Communication is excellent: we received biweekly emails (including pictures!) and the team is always happy to chat when needed. The EPS community is welcoming too, with events that help new families feel at home. Most importantly, my child is thriving—and meeting my biggest goal for preschool: to start to love learning and love school. Highly recommend.
We’ve had such a wonderful experience sending all three of our children to EPS. From day one, the teachers have made our children feel welcome, safe and genuinely excited to learn. It’s such a loving, nurturing environment. I’ve loved the play-based format for the children, but there’s also a clear focus on social, emotional and early academic growth. The teachers have really gotten to know each of my children - celebrating their strengths and providing hands-on support all year long for their unique development needs. It’s been the best foundation for lifelong learning, and we feel so grateful to be part of the EPS community.
We couldn’t be more grateful for our experience at Episcopal Preschool. Our daughter attended for her 2s, 3s, and Pre-K years, and she truly loved every minute. The classrooms were always bright, cheerful, and inviting—an environment that sparked curiosity and joy. Every teacher we encountered was exceptional. They not only provided a nurturing and engaging learning experience but also genuinely cared for Gracy. She thrived under their guidance, running into school each morning with excitement and confidence—never once looking back! The school’s enrichment programs like Lunch Bunch and the after-school offerings in science, art, music, and cooking were a huge bonus. These extras helped Gracy explore new interests, build social skills, and gradually adjust to a longer school day. Thanks to this thoughtful structure, she has transitioned seamlessly into full-day kindergarten this year, well-prepared both academically and socially. We wholeheartedly recommend Episcopal Preschool to any family looking for a warm, enriching, and joyful early childhood experience.
Both of my children attended this preschool from the twos through pre-k programs, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about it! Every day they were genuinely excited to go to school — a true testament to how nurturing, fun, and supportive the environment is. The teachers and staff are incredible. They create a space where children feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore. The program perfectly balances play-based learning with early academics, helping kids develop not only reading and math readiness but also important social and emotional skills. By the time my kids moved on to kindergarten, they were more than prepared — confident, curious, and eager to learn. This school truly lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. We are so grateful for our years here and couldn’t recommend it more highly!
The Episcopal Preschool feels like my family’s second home! We have had three graduate from the school and our fourth is currently enrolled. I cannot say enough wonderful things about EPS, from the dedicated, kind, and experienced staff, to the intimate and well appointed classrooms and facilities, EPS defines the perfect school house for the youngest of learners. As an early childhood teacher, myself, I knew what I wanted from a preschool for my children, and EPS checked all of the boxes. All of my children have loved their experiences at EPS, and my husband and I have been so impressed with how well each one of them has been prepared for kindergarten.
