The Community School In Nutley INC.

This was our first summer at the “older kids” school age camp with Ms. Juli. We have used CSN for daycare services for several years since the age of five months. The school age Summer Camp was an incredible experience this year. Ms. Juli and all the camp counselors are so dedicated, Energetic and supportive. They take the kids on great field trips via school bus once during every two week session. Ms. Juli provides real time location updates to give parents peace of mind on those days. The counselors really bond with the kids and actively participate in activities with them; my daughter loved the dance parties, water play, scavenger hunt etc. The camp provided SCREEN-FREE days and focused on being outside as much as possible. My daughter came home exhausted everyday and collapsed into bed at night! At the end of summer, she came home a little more tan, covered in handmade bracelets and raving about new friends and experiences. The camps hours operate like daycare hours, which is SO Beyond helpful for working parents who don’t have summers off. My only suggestion would be to make the actual daycare for younger children and camp open at the same time as I have one child in each program right now. The only reason I hate to give this review five stars is because it might decrease my chance of getting my kids in next year!! Overall, extremely pleased can’t wait to go back next year.

My son attended Community School from infant until he went to Kindergarten. Lots of great teachers and wonderful programs. Special holiday events and performances by the kids. He made lifelong friends that he still has now in High School.

My child is in Miss DeLuca’s class. Having spoken to other moms, I know I am not the only one who believes that Miss DeLuca is an absolute credit to The Community School and the Nutley education district. I have never come across a someone who personally cares not only for the students, but for the parents alike. Someone who works hard to ensure the home and school connection is there. It is so hard for me to not have insight into my daughter’s day and schedule, and as I am sure you know it’s difficult getting feedback sometimes from our children as to how their day was. As noted many of our fellow parents, Miss DeLuca goes above and beyond, providing us with a daily summary when we pick our child up from school, as well as all information we could ever ask for in her detailed weekly newsletters and the images she provides regularly. She really helps bridge the gap between home and school, letting us know exactly what the kids are learning so we can continue the education at home to further her growth.

Love community school! 2 of my children have gone here and my 3rd will be attending this Fall. They have the best time, and my oldest has attended the big kid summer camp for 3 years and loves it. They do great little shows for the kids to be in (holiday and spring), fun activities like yoga and music, field trips as they get older, and they learn so much - I had no issues with kindergarten readiness. We love the teachers too! Ms. Juli, Ms. Alexis, Ms. Olivia, and Ms. Carolina are amazing, plus the summer counselors my son raves about.

Wonderful program with a fully trained, professional staff who, most importantly, love working with children. Highly recommend. You could not choose a better school.
