The Children'S Garden Day School

To add to my previous review. Since you’ve decided to respond via other parents counter responding to my review.. instead of my direct email… you’re lying, child care connection subsidy was in place by December meaning payments were covered. I paid out of pocket for the entire month of November. He hasn’t even been in the school for over two months in order for this response to even make sense. If payment was a problem since NOVEMBER when he started oct 30th.. why was I not notified of this months ago? I urge you to respond to my email. Otherwise I will be posting receipts next. Furthermore, I never said he would be starting anywhere else on the 1st. Joanne called me from her personal cell trying to make me remove him asap prior to any of this. If your child has any type of special needs this is not the place for you. My son is on the autism spectrum and was discriminated against from the time he started 38 school days ago to the point of which the owner Joanna found any minuscule excuse to expel him effective immediately with only a 20 minute notice. The teacher miss Kim played in my face as well like my son was fine with her but she was complaining behind my back to the owner instead of speaking directly and honestly to me, she was also denying suggestions and help the directors tried to give her as well as bringing her family members in to the school which should not be allowed for obvious reason. My son went to a mainstream daycare for two years where he also had teachers and therapists coming in to work with him and he improved immensely before moving to NJ and never once were we treated the way this lady & her teacher has treated us. He was barely there for a month, through the holiday season. No grace was given in getting him the resources at school. Things do not happen overnight, especially with coming from another state and being full time working and single mother myself. Now my entire child is displaced because of selfish evil discriminatory behavior. He’ll have to start entirely over at a new places when he ALREADY has a social problem. I hate that I even have make this post because my son was happy everyday going to school and the rest of the staff are excellent wonderful people. But that owner is a Riot, God does not like UGLY. & People need to know the truth.

I don't typically write Google reviews but feel inclined to after a negative review was left several days ago from a parent. My two youngest sons attended Children's Garden Day School (CGDS). My now 6 yr old started at CGDS in July 2020. It was the heart of the Covid pandemic and the world was chaotic. Dave, the director at the time, was exceptional. Welcomed us and made us feel like family from the beginning. All of his teachers, Ms Peg, Ms. Jackie and Ms. Kim made my son feel loved. I could speak at length about all of them but I feel inclined to speak specifically about Ms. Kim. Ms. Kim teaches Pre-K 4. Ms. Kim is a very dedicated, committed and loving teacher who has been at CGDS for eleven years. Her love for each student is evident daily. Ms. Kim brought to my attention that my son was completing his work ahead of the other students and recognizing sight words at a astounding rate. She asked my permission to begin offering my son additional classwork to "challenge" him and better prepare him for kindergarten. I was proud of the progress he made in her class and when he took his kindergarten assessment in summer 2022, he excelled. I bragged about the education he received from CGDS and from all his teachers. My youngest son still attends CGDS and is currently in Ms. Kim's class. Ms. Kim recognized some phonics and pronunciation concerns with him. She encouraged me to have a speech evaluation as soon as possible and once recommendations were made she offered to help him in the classroom in any way she could. I will continue to be a proud parent of the CGDS. If you are looking for a daycare for your children please come and see for yourself. Meet your child's teacher, tour the classroom, and see for yourself what CGDS has to offer. I promise you'll see the commitment the teachers have. It's a wonderful place that deserves nothing but glowing praise.

Shame on the OWNER JOANNA and MISS KIM for the discrimination to a child! we send our children to school and trust that they are in good hands when in reality some of these "educators" are only praying on their down fall. Disgusting!

The best and most thorough childcare. Exceptional attention to detail, works in CLOSE and open communication with parents. I feel safe having my children attend this school.
