My son started to come here. And not only has his behavior improved but hes learning the skills he needs to be successful. This school and their staff go above and beyond. Breathing life into the term "it takes a village ". Everyone there is kind, patient, understanding. Showing every student the love and attention they need and deserve. You really couldn't ask for a better staff or school!
The Children’s Center is amazing. I have two boys that are attending and I am just so impressed and am amazed how much progress have they both have made this year it’s so beautiful thank you so much The Children Center you are awesome school.
I was sent to this school a referral from the district for my son who has autism and ADHD. The first 30 days or so were them evaluating my son and finding him placement with his 2nd grade teacher. The communication has been subpar and constantly told my son's behavior is why he hasn't improved academically. Even daily when I'm given a short report of he did good/bad but never disclosed how he's doing academically and what strategies are being used. My son continued to regress academically and as a parent I expressed these concerns many times. Even said he does not do well with computers and told IXL math on the computer is just the way they do things. The behaviors escalated to even more avoidance in academics. I feel like my son was left behind and his disability looked at as defiance. I called the district to discuss placement and how he has not gotten what they promised he would at this school. Why do the same strategies for an entire year then say well next year he has a new teacher which should resolve your concerns. It felt more like they wanted to protect themselves despite letting my son down. Im reluctant and hesitant going into another school year just to be met with he's doing good but the data does not show improvements. I'm given so many charts and graphs about his behavior, again which is looked at as defiance versus a form of communication. When at home my son does the assignments so why can't they do worksheets instead and help him cope with the anxiety of getting answers incorrectly. I was told an entire year he was doing work to then be told they focus on behavior first then academics. His behavior is because he doesn't know the material. Then told by his teacher she doesn't have time to sit with him and teach he is with aides who are not teachers most of the day on the computer which is counterproductive. When I addressed these concerns with the director I was told the teacher has to meet my son where he is because its in his IEP. That was not what I was told repeatedly and felt like he was more of a burden instead of a kid needing supports both behaviorally and academically.
My son has been going to the school for a few years now and I've seen dramatic changes in his behaviors as well as his speech. The staff is phenomenal! They truly care about your children's needs and education. They make sure you as parents are well informed and up-to-date on how your child is truly doing in class. My son loves his teachers, he wakes up excited to go to school everyday.
My son has been going here for the last 2 1/2 years and he has definitely done great here. We have seen so many improvements in him. He had learned so much in the short amount of time with reading, writing and math. His social skills have improved drastically. Definitely would recommend this school. The aids he has had have all been really good with him. Keep up the good work.
