The Berkeley Heights YMCA (Summit Area YMCA) is a wonderful facility! The building is very clean and well-maintained. There is a large basketball court, which is a big plus. I was especially impressed with the teen zone – it’s a great space for teenagers to hang out and spend time. There’s also a nice kids’ area with toys and building sets, which makes it very family-friendly. The locker rooms are spacious with plenty of showers and lockers, so there’s always enough room for everyone. A great place for the whole community!
The facility is nice it’s clean. But the issue is the gossip every time I step in to the gym all the regulars watch you work out whisper to each other gossip with staff and make you feel as if you are doing something wrong watch your every move when your trying to mind your own business when working out. I believe training needs to be done for better customer service. In addition staff member's should not engage in gossip they should be there to watch to make sure the rules are followed and everyone’s safety is in tact. It’s an unwelcoming environment. Please do better YMCA.Its just getting worse.
The Berkeley Heights YMCA is great. I’m very comfortable there. Staff is very friendly and the facility is immaculate. It’s not overwhelming like other places. The fact that everything is only a few years old is icing on the cake.
My family appreciates the inclusive, family-oriented community environment that makes everyone feel welcome and supported. The Berkeley Heights Y offers a great range of classes for all. The facility is always clean, with new, well-maintained equipment that enhances the workout experience. Most importantly, the staff are professional, and always friendly, sets a positive tone for the entire experience.
Love the vibe, the equipment and the people. Beautiful, updated facility. Always clean and well kept. Plenty of room to customize your own workouts in the way you want. Great classes too but I mostly do weights. Enough weights and machines that I rarely have to wait. Terrific staff ready and willing to help at any point in time. Wonderful community feel. Just a great (and happy) place to work out.
