What Parents Say
Reviews are highly polarized, ranging from enthusiastic praise about athletic programs and dedicated teachers to a scathing critique about institutional failures and mismanagement. Most positive reviews focus on sports achievement and teacher quality, while the negative review raises concerns about resource allocation, school environment, and student outcomes.
Attended my lil cousin Kenneth" Buddy" Bartlett Jr. basketball game here. He's going Pro, Mark My Words!
This school is an absolute waste. They preach on and on about trying to create 'productive black men of society', yet after I graduated a year ago I can say that only like 4 people from the grades after mine will actually do anything meaningful. Everyone else is either groomed to fail or were failures from the start. Constant fighting, frequent drug use, and resource management that makes you question the sanity of administration (Ex. Has enough money for school movie trips, yet somehow has no money when it came to improving the schools equipment). The school seems only concerned with breeding more basketball players, which outside of the fact that they are only confirming the stereotype that all black people love basketball (Not all of us do trust me), they can't even be bother to do that correctly. The majority of the school is dirty, and it doesn't help that the teachers that actively try to help students are rewarded with nothing for it. I don't blame the staff for the way Eagle is...or at least, not all of them. The majority of the staff actually cares for the students the teach, and are willing to help. In fact, I know for a fact that a few of the teachers are only staying now because the few students left that have potential, in which case, to them I say this: As soon as the students with potential graduate, find a new job as soon as possible. Your talents as teachers are only hindered by your current place of work. You deserve better. I don't blame you for the way Eagle is. Rather, I blame the lie that the higher ups at Eagle (like it's Founder for example) painted of the school. Coming from middle school, I was given the impression that Eagle would truly help me grow as a person, and become the successful black man that they claimed to want to create. Now, as a college freshman I can say this: I did not succeed because of Eagle, I succeeded in spite of it. Let this be a waring to all who have a son, brother, nephew or grandson leaving middle school and moving onto high school: Don't send them to Eagle Academy under any circumstances, and this goes for all of them (Yes, this isn't the only Eagle Academy, and the other ones aren't much better from what I've seen). Sending them to Eagle sets them up to fail.
Eagles is a very good school my brother goes there and he learns so much smarter then me it's unbelievable this school is awesome if u want your sons to go there you should my mom is one of the teacher so yeah have a great time ! K
I’m not gone lie I graduated here from 8th grade in 2020 and I don’t recommend to send ya kid here there’s definitely favorite kids but shoutout to me foreman for looking out for me in there 🖤
Kids bully each other and the teachers don't handle it properly. There are fights everyday and the kids encourage it, while the staff doesn't even attempt to handle the situation.
