The Beanstalk Academy

We enrolled our daughter in the Sprouts class and paid the required $100 registration fee plus a one-week deposit to hold her space. We registered in July for a January start date after being told there was a growing waitlist and limited availability, she basically pressured us to put a deposit in. When the spot wasn’t actually in jeopardy. When we later decided not to move her and asked about the deposit being returned, (the tuition not the registration fee) We were told it was non-refundable because the space had been held for over five months. Which is not true. We told her in September we would not be attending. There were approximately five months to fill the spot before the January start date. We were also later informed that although there was technically a waitlist, none of those children were eligible to take our daughter’s specific space due to age ratios,something that was not clearly explained at the time we were encouraged to commit financially. Our daughter never attended, yet the full one-week deposit was retained. In today’s economy, losing a significant payment for a service that was never rendered is incredibly disappointing. They make you pay cash or check too. Convenient for them. In addition, we were uncomfortable with the way other local childcare options were discussed during our meetings. It was simply not professional. We felt pressured, lied to and the whole experience was very off putting. I would never recommend this place, especially for the price they charge. There are much better local options.

I am a Beanstalk alumni and I absolutely loved this school. My daughter as been going there from 3 years old to kindergarten this year and absolutely loves it! She loves all her teachers and can’t wait to go to school after the weekends!! She is about to be 6 and is already reading beautifully and even doing some math problems!!! Highly recommend!!

Teachers at this school were abusive. Was yelled at and ostracized by teachers and the memories keep me up at night crying sometimes. I wish I could erase the memories of this school from my brain just scrub them. In one scenario, students were throwing rocks over the fence at cars and I went up to see what was happening. The teachers did nothing about this until one rock hit a car and set off the alarm. They blamed this on me, saying I was the one who conspired to get the rest of the kids to throw rocks at the cars. I know that I was not the one who started it but the entire blame was put on me specifically. No one else was in trouble. I also got screamed at by a teacher for a mere misunderstanding and the teacher would not hear me out kept yelling over me. That particular memory makes me feel sick even thinking about it. The teacher was talking about women's rights and said that there was a time when girls couldn't play with dinosaurs or do a lot of the stuff boys were able to do. I was so emotionally moved by what she was saying and I wanted to engage with the conversation so i said "Girls CAN play with dinosaurs" bc I was a girl and I liked playing with dinosaurs too. The teacher started yelling and screaming at me, insisting I had said that they can't play with dinosaurs, asking me and yelling "how dare you say such a thing you should be grateful for the rights we now have in this country" all this crap to a child who was no older than 5 or 6. Even if I had said what she thought, that is no excuse for what she did to me. She acted like it was this massive moral failing on my part when it shouldn't have mattered. Kids say the wrong thing sometimes and do the wrong thing. There is no excuse for yelling at a child in front of a whole class of students for what could have been solved with clear, calm communication.

A great school and business! The teachers put their heart and soul into what they do and the kids are happy. As a kindergarten teacher myself, I value the social skills and foundational academics taught at Beanstalk. The best highlight is the end of year production, which is always super cute!

I am beyond happy with Beanstalk Academy. The staff is very attentive & caring. Beanstalk is a very safe and nurturing environment. Staff has helped my son come out of his little shy shell. The first day of preschool dropping off my son was very hard as he is very attached and had never had a pre school or day care experience. Lisa reassured me that he would be ok, and just like that within 2 days my son was super excited to go back everyday. He made friends and his confidence has been boosted. He is now in the Beans Stalk's private Kindergarten program, Mrs. Beau is an amazing teacher. She always keeps me updated about my son's learning and between Mrs. Beau and Mrs. Lisa they are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure expectations are met. I will be enrolling my daughter at the Beanstalk as well. We recommend this facility to everyone, you won't be disappointed. I wish we lived in the area when my oldest was smaller so he could of received the same benefits as my middle child now attending here. A big kudo to the staff for all their effort and for being so loving ! From day 1 I never felt like I was dropping off my son to a day care/preschool, it felt more like I was dropping him off to visit a family member. Thank you Beanstalk family for always being so welcoming, patience, kind, loving, and supporting !
