The 2nd House Day Care Learning Center & Preschool

My son began coming to 2nd House when he was 15 months old because I had to go back to work full time. Making the decison on where to leave him and who to leave him with was one of the scariest decisons of my life. I did not trust any daycare I visited. My mom told me to see 2nd House Daycare and I'm so happy we made the decision to put our son there because they treat us, and especially him like family. My son gets happy just when we turn the corner onto the street and he sees the daycare. It's one of his favorite places to be and he has made friends there! The school is always clean. You can also always see the staff cleaning as well. There is always a staff member at the door and a code to enter the building ensuring security. the school is small but cozy. I also like that is is small because it feels easy to monitor. The staff know the kids by their names and always get happy when the families begin to arrive. The communication from the school is clear and I have not had a single issue! They celebrate holidays with the kids and you can tell the kids feel safe there. They all have their favorite teacher. My favorite part is how comfortable i feel as a mom with my son there while i go to work. i never have to worry about him because i know he is safe, happy, and comfortable

Both of my children attended this center and all I have to say are good things. Teachers and administration really care for the kiddos. Highly recommend them!

I had a terrible experience at this daycare some years back. My son must've been two or so and he had a tantrum, he didn't want to stay at the daycare and I was having trouble settling him down. The teacher told me she'd handle it ( I guess she thought this would help) she grabbed my son by the arm and began shaking him. She started yelling in Spanish as she shook him. She yelled saying that he needed to stop and I honestly don't even remember what else she yelled. At that point I was so shocked and I saw my poor son shaking of how scared he was that I just grabbed him and went to speak to the director. When I noticed she started to take the teachers side ( saying that my son practically deserved it) I just left and never returned. I never wrote a review because I didn't want to to even remember how upset I was that day. I mean you already don't want to leave your kids with strangers and to know that they treat them this way when you're there !!! I can't imagine when you're not there to witnesss. It has been some years so I just hope they have now hired teachers with better childcare training and not just anyone off the streets. Be ware people !

The staff is incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely cares about each child’s well-being and development. Highly recommend this institution
