Our experience with Texas Spanish Academy was disappointing. Our daughter attended the Pre-K 4 summer camp and continued into the fall. We were led to believe it was a Spanish immersion program and assumed that teachers would also be able to communicate in English. Unfortunately, we were not informed that the teachers spoke no English at all, which created significant communication barriers. While we occasionally received pictures of daily activities, there was no clear curriculum or consistent communication about what educational content was being taught. This lack of transparency and structure was concerning. We also noticed that teachers struggled to manage classroom conflicts due to language limitations. Our daughter often came home upset and mentioned being put in “time-out,” even though we were told that the program did not use that disciplinary method. Whether this was enforced by staff or mimicked among children, it was troubling. Additionally, there was an incident where my husband overheard unkind behavior between children at drop-off, and the teacher, who clearly witnessed it, did not intervene. This made us question the overall safety and attentiveness of the classroom environment, leading us to withdraw our daughter that same day. Tuition costs also felt disproportionate to the quality of the program. We rarely received meaningful updates about our daughter’s learning, and the lack of transparency was frustrating. Finally, when we decided to withdraw her in October, we were still charged for the following month’s tuition despite not having intended to leave initially. This policy felt unfair and added to our dissatisfaction. Maybe as a daycare, the program could work well for families who don’t mind the teachers not speaking English and who want their baby fully immersed in Spanish. However, as a Pre-K program, the curriculum and structure are not up to par—especially now that we’ve enrolled our daughter in a new preschool and seen a clear difference in the quality of education and communication. Overall, we do not recommend Texas Spanish Academy. We hope the school improves its communication, curriculum, and policies to better support both students and parents.
Texas Spanish Academy is part of our family. Every teacher is kind, professional, and has a talent for early childhood education. While here, my daughter has grown exponentially in her knowledge of Spanish and ability to interact with peers. Extended hours compared to other centers, monthly Parent’ Night Out, and weekly lunch menus add convenience for a busy family. We plan to use Texas Spanish Academy for both of our children from infancy up to kindergarten.
We love Texas Spanish Academy. The teachers and the owner/director, Edina, are amazing. Since the day we did our tour, it was clear that they were very caring and had a passion for education. My toddler who is very, very attached had a little bit of trouble acclimating to being away from home, but his teachers were so warm and welcoming and made an extra effort to help him through the transition.
I have never been around more loving and devoted people before we brought our daughter to this school. I always felt comfort that my child was safe. The teachers are absolutely incredible and my child was described as fluent in Spanish after almost 3 years at this school. I highly recommend TSA and am forever grateful for the impact that they have made in our lives.
We love TSA, the teachers genuinely care for my little girl. She looks forward to every single day she has at school. They offer such a warm, positive and educational experience for her. At almost 2 strangers are impressed that she is already bilingual. Thank you TSA, I recommend them to other parents and parents-to-be!
