Gluttonous, a lack of knowledge, and terrible customer service are the words I would use to describe the people running this place. I have been a member for nearly 10 years, and in the past year this place has precipitously declined in quality while prices have increased in ways that feel unjustified and quietly imposed. When I reactivated my membership, I was explicitly promised that my original contract would be honored and that my monthly rate would remain steady. Instead, they raised the fee without transparency or a clear explanation, hoping long-term members would not notice. For a gym now charging roughly $130 a month, this bait and switch is indefensible. Basic equipment that even mid tier gyms provide is inexplicably missing. There is no hip abductor machine. Management claimed a study indicates it leads to knee issues, which is scientifically illiterate. Modern medical consensus actually shows that hip abductor strength is vital for knee health. To hear fitness professionals peddle the exact opposite information is alarming. The hours are wildly inconsistent, making it difficult to maintain any serious training routine. Attempting to resolve these issues through member services only underscored how far standards have fallen. Calls went unanswered, and basic billing questions were met with deflection. When I finally reached a representative named Tavanisha, her conduct was purely obstructive. She harassed me with calls during work hours and sent a flood of spam emails. A malfunctioning chatbot from 2010 would be more logical, helpful, and dignified than she was. I deeply regret recommending this place to friends and family over the years. Save your money and your patience. Go to City Sports for $30 a month, or join Equinox where the pricing, equipment, and professionalism actually align with reality
Overall, I like this gym to an extent but highly reconsidering given the new price increase. It has “premium” tier pricing which means the gym isnt overly crowded during peak hours and it is relatively clean at all times I would say 205 per month is too much and they will price out this age group. Per these google reviews, the price increase is going to be the final straw where membership in their 30-64 group will drop in 2026 If you’re in the 30-64 bucket, you might want to consider joining someone’s Bay Club membership for the same price The price I’m paying - I’m disappointed when the gym doesnt open late or closes early for JCC events. Tier Pricing: 13-19: 130 per month 20-29: 148 per month 30-64: 205 per month 65+ 160 per month
I have gone here for many years and seen a steady decline in the offerings. I come for good hours, good gym and weight room, to steam, to charge my car and for community. Only community remains strong. Hours on weekdays - once closed at 11pm now 9pm Steam room - closed and delayed for weeks after promised opening Gym - closed for 1.5 weeks when the resurfacing has always taken 3 days in prior years. Charging stations - down for months with new chargers promised but delayed. Going on 6 months now with now chargers Rates just increased as well. It feels like paying more for much, much less.
I’m really disappointed with how things have been handled lately. The steam room and sauna renovation was delayed two full weeks with little to no clear communication, which defeats the point of paying for premium amenities. On top of that, membership prices were raised while major facilities were unavailable, and now the basketball court is closed as well. It’s frustrating to pay more while getting less. If prices are going up, members deserve transparency, reliable timelines, and access to the facilities that were promised. Right now, the value just isn’t there.
This community center is the best one in Mountain View. We are extremely happy to have JCC next to us and being able to enjoy what JCC offers. We were pleased to meet Matt, membership representative, who helped us with joint membership bundle. Please ask for Matt to work with when you are there. Amount of things that they have onsite are unbeatable and definitely worth the membership price. My favorite perk is two types of saunas. (Two types). It’s very clean. Gym has many freshly upgraded equipment. Really love it. The community here is a treasure. Many very interesting, well educated and intelligent people. Gym also has pretty good and experienced coaches you can work with. Strongly recommend it.
