Temple Shaari Emeth Early Learning Center

We are now on our third child and sixth consecutive year at Temple Shaari Emeth Early Learning Center, and I truly can’t say enough good things about this school. We’ve been through COVID, rising antisemitism, and everything in between — and through it all, I have always felt my children were safe, supported, and cared for under the steady, thoughtful leadership of Sheryn Cohen and her incredible staff. From an educational standpoint, I’ve consistently been so impressed. Two of my three children completed all three years at TSE ELC, and my youngest is halfway through his third year — and every one of them has been exceptionally well prepared for Kindergarten, academically, socially, and emotionally. One of the most special parts of this school is the connection to the synagogue community. The children have regular access to clergy, celebrate Shabbat in such a warm and meaningful way, and grow up feeling proud of their Jewish identity while being taught kindness and respect for everyone. The environment is truly inclusive — every family is welcomed, supported, and valued. On a deeply personal level, our family has experienced loss over these past six years, and the love, compassion, and support we received from this community meant more than I can put into words. They showed up for us in ways that went far beyond the classroom. And what truly makes this place feel like home is the heart behind it. The teachers are loving and tender, genuinely getting to know each child as an individual. They care just as much about thoughtful lesson plans as they do about a runny nose, a tough morning, or a celebratory milestone. TSE ELC has been a second home for our family for years, and we are beyond grateful for the foundation it has given our children. 💙

We have had such a wonderful experience at The ELC -Temple Shaari Emeth. My daughter truly loves all of her teachers and looks forward to going to school each day — which says everything. She has learned so much during her time here, both academically and socially, and we feel completely confident that she is ready for kindergarten. The teachers are caring, patient, and genuinely invested in the children. It’s clear that they create a nurturing and engaging environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. We’re so happy with our experience that our younger daughter will be starting there as well, and we’re looking forward to another three years at this amazing school. We would absolutely recommend it to any family looking for a loving and enriching preschool community.

We have had the most wonderful experience with Shaari Emeth’s ELC program. We began with Mommy & Me classes when our son was a baby and then started the preschool program when he was 2 years old. Everyone is kind, caring and attentive. It feels more like a family than a school. There is nothing more important than knowing your child is in a loving and warm environment created by an amazing staff.

Shaari Emeth is a wonderful place, community and family. We could not be happier with choosing TSE for our kids. The staff goes above and beyond to not only teach their students, but to make sure they are treated with tender love, care and warmth.
