What Parents Say
Temple Beth Shalom Preschool receives mixed reviews. Six parents gave 5-star ratings, praising engaged teachers, play-based learning, good communication, and care for children. Two parents gave 1-star ratings, citing poor communication, unresponsive management, lack of transparency about waitlist policies, and concerns about a $50 waitlist fee charged before tours or enrollment discussions.
We have been at 5 different daycares across 2 states and 3 cities over the last 8 years, with our 3 kiddos. We have had many wonderful teachers, but also turnover, sickness, communication challenges, etc- at all of them. I can say that our experience at TBS in the Pre-K program for my son has been great. The school is communicative, teachers are happy to be with the kids and have prepared engaging activities for them, and there are extras like art class and soccer. We are not Jewish, but appreciate the religious connection as another opportunity to learn about caring for people and our world in a child-friendly way. I can only speak to my experience in preschool this year, but would recommend the program to others and plan to send my youngest too.
We have loved Temple Beth Shalom since starting in August for our toddler. They have classroom play-based learning plans, even for the youngest kids (18m-2 years), and the kids love it. They have a great teacher to student ratio and clearly really care about the children. We are grateful to have our child here, and look forward to our youngest going there as well when she turns 18m.
We were on waitlist for almost a year which was frustrating at the time, but turned out to be worth it. Our 3 yo is always talking about her teachers and classmates, and you can tell they really care about all the kids. It’s play based learning which is great for the littles. The school is fairly diverse and inclusive, and works with ECECD - we’ve been really happy sending our daughter there.
Great school! The teachers and the pre school director have been very supportive with my child helping him adapt to the school setting since he was home the first 4 years and had not been in any school setting before. The teachers are very communicative and are always willing to help to keep students improving and thriving!
The school runs like a well oiled machine: we like the headmaster, all the teachers and support staff. The facilities are charming and well appropriated. Never any concern that our children are being well cared for. Would recommend to anyone.
