I don't really need to have an experience in person I saw the video of the elder woman in the bathroom completely denigrating and destroying a young girl because this lady said she was too fat for her shorts. This was your church member that did this so yes I saw the letter where she stepped down from her committees etc I don't think that's good enough I think the pastor should resign because what are you teaching? Is this is how your members act. It's horrible it's absolutely disgusting that you have a church member doing this and that's all you think you need to do is write a little letter and she just needs to step down from her committees. no this is horrible
I've been attending Swansboro UMC for close to 30yrs. I felt welcomed from the very start by the kind and loving embrace of it's members. They nurtured me through excellent sermons, studies, missions, Stephen's Ministry, and lifegroups. It's a lively never boring place to be a servant of God!
I have been a member of this church for over 25 years. All of my kids grew up attending many youth group events and mission trips. SUMC is so much more than a church because it truly is a family that loves and supports each other. The church is constantly growing and changing to accommodate the changing needs of the church family yet the warm and inviting spirit always remains constant from the minute you arrive and are greeted at the front door to your departure when the pater gives you a hug. This church family has enough love for everyone. Come try it! You will not be sorry.
SUMC has been my church for decades, and I'm grateful for all the ways I've been welcomed and invited to be part of small and large groups/studies, engage in the Joy Sunday School Class, participate in the choir, and join in the mission work in the church and community. The worship services are inspiring while also giving us a challenge to live into the Word, and I am so grateful for our ministers who lead us.
What a wonderful experience I had this morning while visiting this church. The prayer for those being deployed this week brought me to tears and was so proud to be there and pray for them. Pastor Baker’s personal story helped me understand something I am going through. The whole sermon spoke to me and I just wanted to let anyone know that is looking for a church or answers to help you with your faith I believe this church can help you. God bless our troops, their families and friends. God bless us and guide us all to a better tomorrow for our world!
