Sunshine House - Brentwood II

Our family LOVES Sunshine House on Walnut! We started our son there right when he turned 2 years old and have been so happy with their care for over a year now. All of the teachers are warm, kind, and work so well with the kids. Our son thrives with the flexibility of open play and structured group activities. I also love how they keep us updated throughout the day with photos and messages. They are also really supportive with potty training, so it makes that transition less stressful. Thank you so much Sunshine House B2, for being such an important extension of our family.

We are incredibly grateful for the caring, friendly, and dedicated teachers at this daycare. From day one, they made our child feel safe, welcomed, and genuinely loved. The teachers are not only approachable but also deeply attentive to each child’s individual needs, creating a nurturing and positive environment where children can truly thrive. One thing that really sets this preschool apart is the sense of community they build with families. They host a monthly family breakfast, which gives parents a wonderful opportunity to connect with the teachers and other families—something we haven’t seen at any other preschool. It makes us feel truly involved in our child’s early learning journey. We also absolutely love receiving daily photos and videos, showing the kids engaged in art activities, learning during circle time, or simply having fun with their friends. These updates give us peace of mind and make us feel connected to our child’s day even when we’re at work. On top of that, the thoughtful gestures—like regularly sending holiday and birthday cards—really show how much care and effort the team puts into making every child and family feel special and valued. It’s incredibly reassuring as parents to know our child is in such loving hands. Our child comes home happy, excited, and eager to talk about their day, which speaks volumes. We highly recommend this daycare to any family looking for a warm, supportive, and community-focused preschool.

I want to start by saying a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing teachers at The Sunshine House. Every day when I drop my kids off, I feel genuinely welcomed. I love that the staff greets me by name and often shares sweet moments or little stories from my children’s day. It brings me such peace of mind knowing my children are cared for by such dedicated and compassionate people. Two of my kids attend the Brentwood location on Walnut, one of them has severe asthma and a tree nut allergy and I can’t express enough how safe and reassured I feel knowing the staff is so attentive and capable. I also really appreciate how easy it is to communicate with the teachers, whether it’s a quick text if we’re running late or letting them know if my kids aren’t feeling well. And my favorite part of all? Getting those adorable photo updates throughout the day, knowing my little ones are happy, safe, and having fun with their friends. And how could I forget to mention all the fun and enriching activities they offer while keeping things educational. The Tumble Time Bus, soccer, music time, and so much more! Sunshine house has been a home away from home for my children since 2022. My oldest love it so much that we just had to enroll the youngest as soon as she was 2. The teachers are kind and caring, listening to each child needs, allow them to explore in different areas including a spacious outside area with climbers, swings and a sand area and a rotating indoor activity from campground to a castle. My kids love(d) circle time so much that it became an evening activity where they would ‘teach’ me what they learnt that day. All the teachers allow the children to thrive in a safe environment, allow them to experiment during discovery lab and just allow them to be kids. I recommend Sunshine House to anyone looking for an amazing childcare for their children.

My son didn't have a great experience there. We constantly got negative feedback when we picked him up to the point my wife didn't want to pick him up. In the two months before we took him out, I can recall being told only two good things about him and both were by Ms. Brooklyn, the newest teacher. He had never been in trouble at daycare before and he's almost 4, but something about SSH was difficult for him. It's not a terrible school for all kids though. It just has a lot of kids in what seems to me as a small space. It has a couple of rooms, but it honestly seems like one big room. It always felt chaotic and unstructured when I was there, which I think was difficult for my son. He does much better with structure. They do plan, have schedules, etc., but I think the number of students, and layout of the school make it difficult to function without what seems to me as chaos. If your child is very independent, doesn't mind a lot of kids, takes naps, this might be the place for you. They definitely have some fun activities, programs, and Lily, Diane, and Brooklyn are awesome. If your child needs a calmer more structured environment, I cannot recommend SSH. Please keep in mind we are one family and this was our experience and opinion. They have a lot of good reviews you shouldn't overlook.
