Sunnyside has been amazing for my son and our family. My son's teachers in the Lavendar room have been wonderful (Ms. Precious, Ms. Esa, and Ms. Crystal) - they are kind, patient, and my son lights up when he sees them every day.
Sunnyside is amazing - my son was here for almost 2 years and they are absolutely wonderful. I was so impressed by how much my son flourished. We had him at another daycare and decided to make the switch, I have to say it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. The teachers are amazing and care so much about our little ones. Thank you to Giselle, Karina, Becca and rest of the staff for taking care of our son from 3 months of age until 1 year. He was always so happy to go in every morning after being greeted with smiles and hugs and growing and learning with his friends throughout the day. Brightwheel app was great for updates with nap times, meals, pictures and videos of their day. He likes his new home and new daycare but misses everyone from Sunnyside 😭😭
My daughter attended Sunnyside from age 4 months to nearly 16 months. She was not an easy baby but Sunnyside was great -- the director is so knowledgeable and so nice, and the teachers were experienced and positive. They work closely with families and after a while feel like extended family as well. (Sunnyside is a smaller center, which I like because it feels more close-knit). My daughter grew into a calmer, happy toddler. The only thing I would change about Sunnyside is their lack of an app or electronic means of communicating with us through the day. Most places (like their sister school across the street, Ravenswood Montessori School) have a way to show parents pictures and updates in real time. But overall, this is a great place to send your child and I feel fortunate for our time there.
All three of our children attended Sunnyside from the age of 12 weeks to 2 years old and we were so lucky to find this place! The teachers are so warm and friendly, they get excited each morning to greet our children, they always ask about the older ones who have moved on to Ravenswood Montessori School (RMS), and are invested in us as a family. They make the days fun for the kids, engage them in plenty of activities that are both directed and free-flowing, they provide regular updates and photos on the Brightwheel app, and as they move through the toddler room they begin preparing your child for RMS with some Montessori programming. Our children all became so attached to their teachers, melting into their arms each morning. We can't say enough about the level of care and attention that all of our children received, and it was very obvious how much they were loved.
