Our family absolutely loves Sunflower Child Care Center. From the moment we first walked in, we felt welcomed and cared for. I have appreciated the director and teachers' care each day my kiddo arrives. Always a warm greeting and assistance. The teachers I've met are patient, kind, and great with the babies. I had my older child at the center under the previous director and things are just so much better now. I appreciate a transparent curriculum, community events and programming, and openness to engage with the director and board.
Sunflower is a wonderful place to trust with your child. The center has made a lot of efforts in the last year to improve overall care top to bottom. My son attended Sunflower for several years and started kindergarten last August. There were some difficulties with the last director/admin staff but since the new director and admin team have been in place my son has flourished there. He is doing great in kindergarten and we can easily tell he was prepared with the care received at Sunflower.
Sunflower is a wonderful center! I feel comfortable with my child there and am never worried about her safety, cleanliness or attention level she receives. My family is grateful for the kind, responsive and caring staff and we love the Director! It is also in a great location for Lewisburg neighborhoods.
I used to have my older kid in Sunflower and had a lot of trouble getting clear and transparent information from the administration. ( All the teachers my child had have been caring and wonderful). Besides hearing horrible anecdotes about poor treatment towards staff and children, I personally also experienced a difficult episode trying to work with the center admin on caring for kid. I recently reached out to the center's new administrator (who used to be a teacher) about enrolling my younger child and had a really positive interaction. I am hopeful that with the recent admin turnover, the center is able to retain staff who truly care about kids, and look forward to putting my child there again.
