What Parents Say
Parents praise Summit Jewish Community Center Nursery School as a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community where families feel at home. The facility is noted for its quality early learning and religious education programs that help children develop pride in their Jewish identity. Multiple reviewers highlight the friendly, accepting atmosphere and strong leadership that welcomes people of all backgrounds.
I LOVE this community! It's where we raised our children and found our family by choice. We've met the most interesting people that there would be no other way to know - people of every generation, religious inclination (the FULL gamut!), color, orientation, financial ability, life cycle stage, and background. Some people dress up for events and services and some people wear jeans. And we all come together and enjoy each other because what we have in common is so much more important than the differences; those just make us interesting! COS-SJCC is a happy place to be for all.
This is a really special place. Although we initially joined for the ELC/preschool, we stayed for the warm and accepting community. Both the ELC and JLC schools are wonderful, and my kids gained an appreciation for and pride in their Jewish identity. Although no place can be all things to all people all of the time, the leadership of the COS-SJCC seems to have tried to accomplish this goal for as long as I've been a member, and I've tried to keep this in mind too when serving in leadership roles. People join synagogues for all kinds of reasons, but our members stick around because of the fun, friendly, and come-as-you-are spirit.
I am basing my review by the service I received from the Red Cross. I went there to donate blood. There was a blood drive scheduled there. So, I only saw the area they provided to the Red Cross. The area was well lit and clean. I also used the ladies room which was well kept. The ladies from the front door to the donation area were courteous and very professional.
I attended a holiday service as a visitor & was greeted warmly by the professional staff & president. The service was lovely & passover kiddush tasty. I ll return when i m in summit nj.
Warm community with great nursery and religious schools and programming for kids. The rabbi and cantor are amazing.
