My daughter has been going there for about 10 months and she is still excited to go everyday, especially when Mr. Jim is there! The owner’s daughter who took over, Hannah, has been very responsive, easy and amazing to work with. Would definitely recommend!
Very disappointed in this daycare. This is the second child we have had go here. He went there for three years without an issue. Then Mr Jim has knee surgery and Miss Karen is full-time teacher and we start having issues. She literally singled out our child and turned the other kids against him like he was the bad kid. She then calls and says he is acting out and I need to come get him. I said Im on my way. When we arrived to get him we asked to see the cameras and got told no. 3 days later I get a text saying Friday is his last day he needs a new daycare. Once again I asked to review the film of last few days. Said it doesn't record that long not possible. I truly think this day are needs to close it's doors. I don't recommend going here at all. It's hard to correct the issues he is having if you can't see them on video. Jim and Karen are the owners of this daycare.
They've been in Kearney a very long time. And perhaps in the past were a great daycare. However, as many places and people evolve, this one has too, and I've dealt with unprofessionalism and rudeness with one of the owners. Not sure what's going on, but would not recommend.
My son attended Sugar N Spice for a few months in the spring and summer until Pre-k started in the fall. The style of the center is old school. Sand pit and bare feet. My son LOVED it there. Miss Peg is a wonderful staff leader and Mr. Jim, the owner, was typically always on the premesis whenever I came around. When my son came home with a few bumps and bruises but no accident report, I called Jim and he resolved the issue immediately. After that minor bump, there wasn't anything else to note. They are clean, safe and friendly. I was an out-of-towner, when in a pinch for child care and no family to help out, I could turn to Sugar N Spice with fair prices and friendly demeanors. Sugar N Spice was actually my third choice, but I am so happy we went with them. If I were ever to move back to the Kearney area, Sugar N Spice will be the place for my son.
This business is so unprofessional. I tried to call them to see if they had openings. The director was VERY rude. She barely would answer one question and then hung up on me in the middle of a sentence. This is no way to run a business and I’m glad they had no openings for my children. I would NEVER take them here after this terrible short experience
