After trying two of the main daycares in Middleton, Stepping Stones is a breath of fresh air! I was beginning to think I was the problem after having several issues with the daycares in Middleton. My daughter has been going to Stepping Stones for a couple of months, and I am so pleased to say that we have had zero issues. My daughter was kicked out for biting at her last daycare which left me feeling helpless as this was a behavior she only demonstrated at that daycare, so I didn't know how to stop it. It was a behavior she learned there from being bit herself. Stepping Stones was able to get her to stop biting within the first two weeks by positive reinforcement when she wouldn't bite. And she has never been bit while there. I had held out trying this daycare even though there were other issues at the Middleton daycare, because I live in Middleton and you have to pack your child's lunch at Stepping Stones, but the small drive out of my way and packing her lunch everyday is so worth the outstanding care we get. My daughter loves going there, they do so many arts and crafts, have fun field trips, are open some weekend evenings for parent date night, and awesome holiday parties. They even ofter outside services like dance and other stuff I haven't had the time to look into. They really do go above and beyond, and I feel like they appreciate the business of watching my child where before I felt like watching my child was a burden. I LOVE this daycare so much and wish I would have moved my daughter here at the first sign of trouble at the last daycare.
I was at Kid Planet with my kid and witnessed this preschool/ daycare field trip. The teachers put 6 kids in timeout for an hour at the table next to mine, apparently because the kids had been throwing balls in the ball pit. The kids sat there quietly the whole time and never left their seats, and one eventually asked why they were even there. They were never allowed to go back and play, after an hour all the kids were called up for lunch. Speaking as a fellow teacher and parent- I did not like what I saw of this day care/ preschool. I get it, 5 minute timeout makes sense to me- but an HOUR? That's what I call lazy teaching and possibly an abuse of power. They probably had a lot of kids to watch over, more than usual as it was a time when school was let out- but I would not put my kid in their preschool.
Great atmosphere, teachers, curriculum, and fun. My daughter has been here for about 1 1/2 years and she loves it. She is always learning and growing.
We are very particular with where we send our children for care and have had no issues with this center. We have been very pleased.
